I just picked up a Marlin XS7 and plan on making it a 6.5 something! I am looking for an all around rifle to be kept on the lightweight side. 21" or 22" barrel. I currently have a Broughton and a Benchmark barrel in my closet waiting for a home. I have a 260 custom barreled Encore that shoots little tiny groups with the cheapest of components. I also have a DPMS LR-260 that shoots nothing that I have tried so far. I am "tooled up" for 260 reloading but not for the Creedmoor. This will be a deer/antelope rifle that will get carried a lot and shot a little. Avg shot will be 250-325 yds with the longest shot at 500 yds. I have 1100 139gr bullets and hopefully will be using some of them in this gun (my Encore likes this bullet too).
Would you go with a 260 or a 6.5 Creedmoor??

Go with the .260 you will get slightly more case capacity and not to mention better brass. Currently .260 is made by Lapua, Norma, Nosler, and Remington. Just being able to use Lapua brass is what won me over. But all in all there isn't much difference, just go with your gut ! Goodluck !

I asked almost that same question here when I shot out my 260. I'll share the same advice I got, stick with 260. You have everything you need to load it already and you're familiar with the round. Why add another round to have to buy dies, brass, components for?
