Rifle Scopes 3-18 vs 4.5-27 razor for PRS22 build

Between the two I’d go with the 3-18, but honestly I wouldn’t use either. I like more mag than 18x for shooting small groups on paper or tiny steel targets and my 4.5-27 is not parallax free at 25yds even when I turn the mag way down. Love my G2 Razors, just wouldn’t be my top choice for a 22...

    B14R ammo recommendations

Mine also shoots SK very well. The standouts seem to be Rifle Match, Pistol Match Special and Flatnose Match. I’ve only tried one lot of Center X which was not impressive, however Midas + shot very well which leads me to believe the lot of Center X was just a bad one. A particular lot of Eley...

I emailed them last week about getting a part and asked them this question as well. Was told to expect more details next year.

New B-14R CF Barrel in MDT XRS chassis review

Nice shooting and I’m glad this one is shooting better than your steel barrel gun. But dang it you’re making me feel inadequate about the performance of my B14R! :ROFLMAO:

    Precision Underground rear bags?

Just received a rear bag from Precision Underground this morning and took it to the range this afternoon. This is the first "real" shooting bag I've used (previously just used sandbags) and I am impressed. Construction and materials are excellent. I'm very pleased with the...

Bergara B-14R Range Report and Assessment

More results from the B14R, post-bedding of the HMR stock. I can update this post later with pictures of today's targets if anyone cares to see them, otherwise I'll just post the numbers (average of all groups measured outside to outside in inches minus .222"). Everything today was shot...

Bergara B-14R Range Report and Assessment

So results from bedding the HMR stock on my B14R are.....inconclusive. These are the averages of 5 round groups measured CTC at 50 yards from the same lot of ammo, measured in inches. Some are better after bedding, some are worse. Something interesting happened with the Eley club - In the...

Bergara B-14R Range Report and Assessment

Went to the range today, but they were full and I didn't feel like waiting around. For this type of accuracy testing I prefer to use a local indoor range that has underground 100yd rifle lanes so that I can shoot in a no wind environment. General elk season opens here tomorrow, I should have...

Gunsmithing Quick question on skim bedding.

After I took that picture I did spend a bit more time cleaning paint from the tang and lug areas and relieving it a bit more. I did not take out much material - tried to be cautious my first time doing this. I figure worst case scenario if I remove too little material is that I have to dremel...

Bergara B-14R Range Report and Assessment

I haven't posted in this thread for a while. Have been shooting the B14R with similar results to those posted previously. I decided to try my hand at glass bedding the HMR stock (first rifle I've ever attempted this on myself). Has anyone else done this and what were your results? I'll try...

Gunsmithing Quick question on skim bedding.

Thanks for the replies folks. I went ahead and did it last night, hopefully didn't screw anything up too badly. The aluminum bedding block(s) that are molded into the stock were painted over at the factory, gray with black texturing. Sanded down to the metal, drilled 5 shallow holes between...

Gunsmithing Quick question on skim bedding.

I've never tried glass bedding a rifle stock but I'm going to give it a try with my Bergara B14R. Has the HMR (polymer stock with aluminum mini chassis). Should I drill a few small, shallow holes into the polymer in the areas where I'll be applying epoxy or just rough it up with some sandpaper?

Member Link Up Utah shooters let's go shoot a mile

5 minutes is super convenient I’ve never shot F class, it does look boring. My favorite type of shooting is at steel with my bolt guns. I’ve looked into high power/service rifle as a way to get back into shooting ARs. I’ve shot 3 gun, ARs with all sorts of optics but they just don’t do it...

Centerville Small Arms? I haven't been there but I came across it while looking for service rifle matches in Utah. I think I'll try to make one of the matches in October if only just to watch, meet some people and get a feel for the range.
