Sidearms & Scatterguns Competition Pistol thread

Didn't see a thread dedicated to competition pistols…I can't be the only one here doing pistol matches. I primarily do USPSA/Steel Challenge in Carry Optics division. Using a Glock 34 Gen 5 which has a 3.25 MOA RMR, Overwatch trigger, and Dawson MOS sights but is otherwise stock. This is...

Which pieces of equipment can go as carry on?

I've flown with guns maybe 3-4 times, I was present when they opened my case every time.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Ruger single actions Bisley vs. Vaquero vs. Blackhawk

I have a Blackhawk .38/.357. I love it. The sights are way better than the traditional single action blade front/notch rear. .38/.357 is the most versatile one, imho. You can buy reeeaaallllyyyy cheap .38 SPL.

Watch Guru's; Smith & Bradley, Suunto, etc??

I love my Citizen Eco Drive. I wear it 24/7, including in the water, and never had any problems. They make some all-black ones that look pretty old-school tactical. I got one with a perpetual calendar, that's a really convenient feature. I'm one of those people that hates wearing a digital watch.

Movie Theater Anyone Read A Good Fiction Novel Lately?

Gates of Fire by Stephen Pressfield is a must read if you haven't already. I've heard his other books are good too but I've never gotten around to them.

Movie Theater Anyone Read A Good Fiction Novel Lately?

CW2 by Layne Heath. Good novel about Huey pilots in Vietnam. Dune by Frank Herbert is one of the all time great works of literature, in my opinion.

    Bataan Death March

For those of you east of the Mississippi, there's a similar event in Gatlinburg. Actually, the same thing other than the terrain. Mountain Man Memorial March

    Ares SCR

That's pretty cool, actually. That would be a cool way to have a lightweight hunting rifle that has all the benefits of an AR. . . depending on the cost, I might buy one.

    Movie Theater Turn

I've gotten got up all he way to the 10th episode now, and I must say that this is one of my favorite shows now. The only thing that I don't like I that it's based up North, so my Revolutionary War heroes aren't mentioned. Maybe later seasons will move it down South (I haven't read the book)...

Stumbled on the 30 Rem AR cartridge. Feedback any one?

I'm pretty sure 30 Rem AR died out after Remington/AAC threw its collective weight behind the 300 Blackout. Both pretty much fill the same role.

Stock choice for precision AR. Not the PRS.

I have a plain ole A2 on my precision rig and a Magpul STR on my carbine.

Watched the first 3 episodes. This show is LEGIT. Between this and Hell on Wheels, AMC has me hooked.
