But, could you shoot a smiley face into said watermelon with it?

The "We All Started Somewhere" thread...

First rifle I learned on was a .243 lever action with detachable box mag (I think a Savage 99E though it's no longer in my families posession so not 100% certain on that). My dad taught me to sight in on the tailgate of his truck. We wedged the gun into his black and decker vice using a wool...

    Virginia Gun Control Updates

One of the better things our new AG can do is re-instate former AG Cuccinelli's 2011 opinion regarding carrying in churches. That prior opinion was rescinded by Herring, and can be found here: https://www.nraila.org/articles/20110411/virginia-attorney-general-issues-opini Del. Gilbert is...

    Virginia Gun Control Updates

You do realize that's not how our state or national governments work anywhere in the U.S. A newly elected executive cannot just repeal a bunch of law passed by a predecessor. And, truthfully, I am thankful none can.

    Virginia Gun Control Updates

That power mostly resides with the legislature, not the governor. General assembly has to pass a law to take it back away from cities/towns.

    Virginia Gun Control Updates

While we won Gov, and took back the House of Delegates. The Dems still control the State Senate. Don't expect much progress on bad gun laws being repealed for a few years. But, we stopped more bad laws from getting created which is a win.

    Seekins Precision HIT Rifle #MightCancelAT-XOrder

Got my dad an original Havak PH1. I've played with it a bit, and loved everything about it except the bolt lift was really heavy. If they've lightened the bolt lift on their gen 2 Havaks, then this rifle looks like an awesome option for the price.

    Math on Gun Ownership

    You're missing a zero. That would 13,600 / 3 deaths.

Real or Fake? Hornady pleading w employees to vax?

Not when working with the government. They can add unilateral terms to the contract, and if you don't accept them then you don't get the money to perform.

Real or Fake? Hornady pleading w employees to vax?

As of Sep. 30th the government published FAR 52.223-99. The FAR is the Federal Acquisition Regulations and governs federal contracts. The clause referenced above is the Covid regulations. I work for a government contractor, and over the last couple weeks we have seen funding mods incorporate...

Real or Fake? Hornady pleading w employees to vax?

Every company that does any business with the Federal Government in any capacity (even as a commercial vendor for a Government Prime Contractor) is required to have the exact same policy. I just was part of a 4 hour meeting at my company today discussing this. It's going to become a big game...

Hunting scope without spending a fortune....

I have an LRHS Gen 1. Great hunting scope, and pretty decent target scope too. I am sure the Gen 2's are even better.

Soros Money shows up in Loudoun County

Alot of us have been saying this since back when Nicole (former deputy CA) was running to be the new CA, but not many cared then and Buta barely won that election. The nearly $1M of Soros money definitely helped. Btw, my family's personal experience with Buta is this...

    Dave Ramsey Financial Peace

If the value of our real estate portfolio was only 15 to 20% above our total loans, then I'd agree it'd be pretty risky. But, even if we have another 2008, values would have to fall by 60% for us to be underwater from a loan to value ratio. Could that happen, yes. But, most everyone else would...

Good "generic" bag setup for PRS beginner?

Most guys hump it with a pack. Some have carts, or use the tactical baby carriage set up. I used an Eberlestock J107 Dragonfly for years. This season I switched to the new Eberlestock R3 Upranger. The Upranger has been a huge improvement in keeping organized.

Good "generic" bag setup for PRS beginner?

It takes a bit getting used to using a Gamechanger as a rear bag, But it's extremely steady and very versatile for different heights in the rear. You can use 1 ear, flip it on it's side for less elevation, flip it on it's end for more elevation, etc.... It's very handy to have as a rear bag...

    Dave Ramsey Financial Peace

I've always looked at Ramsey's philosophy as good for people who by themselvss aren't disciplined in their spending or savings habits. If you are using debt to buy depreciating "fun" toys and racking up consumer debt you can't pay off each month, then his philosophy will help you. But, Debt is...

Good "generic" bag setup for PRS beginner?

GameChanger is my main front bag, and also my favorite rear bag. Buy a mini Arca plate from Gray ops as well. The plate plus a gamechanger is rock steady on props. An Armageddon gear "Big Ass" fat bag is my go to positional support bag for rooftops, tires, etc. I shoot probably 80% of stages...

    Where were you?

9/11 remains the only day of my life I have stepped foot in NY City. Was 17 at the time, traveling home by train with my 13 yr old sister. Just the two of us (traveling home from visiting family). We watched the first tower fall from the train outside the city. Then, when authorities allowed...
