Let's break down the math on gun ownership:
Not counting grandfathered guns, there are approximately 136,000,000 gun owners in the US at present.
Every year, there are ~30,000 deaths by firearm. (20,000 of which are suicide, but, hey.)
For the purposes of argument, let's say that every one of those 30,000 gun deaths was done by a single, separate legal firearm owner.

You with me so far? 136,000,000 gun owners, 30,000 of which have caused gun deaths.

That means, at present, Alec Baldwin has caused more gun deaths than 99.977% of all gun owners.

Another way to look at it is to knock of four zeros and end up with 1360 (owners) / 3 (deaths)

Assuming your numbers are correct.

I took an anti-gunner's website stating that 42% of the US citizenry owned at least one gun, multiplied by 323 million, then subtracted the yearly FBI crime stats average of 30,000 gun deaths (sometimes higher, sometimes lower).

So, as a first-order approximation, it holds. I always reserve the right to be wrong though.

Whats wonderful is that many if not most of those 136 million gun owners own not just one, but MULTIPLE guns. Some, like Army Jerry, bless his sweet little soul, likely own dozens. If the average is 3 guns per owner then thats 408000000, almost half a billion firearms in the hands of US citizens. Im getting a woody just thinking about it.🥰

Same website said the average was 5 guns per gun owner's home. Dipped a bit when the pandemic hit and all the lefties went out and got their first gun.

Has anyone done the math to see how many aloha snack bars were armed with that military gear before being flown into our military bases here in such a hurry that we left Americans?? Because math.

He's in the ballpark, there's 300m+ firearms in 100m+ households

2/3rds of gun deaths are suicides if you eliminated those and gang / drug violence you're down to basically zero

No way to prevent suicide and most of the gang / drug homicides are in democrat cities with strict anti gun laws but guns totally be the problem 🤷🏼‍♂️

Oh for sure. I was just giving the anti-gunners the best possible numbers.

Even then, Alec Baldwin is worse than 99.9+% of all gun owners.

Yeah. There are probably many more gun owners than you think. So many guns are out there that the gov has no idea about. It wasn't until 68 that paperwork was required.

Even now, free trade in firearms is alive and well in the majority of states.

I make sure that the seller doesn't get a record of my information when I buy something face to face. Anyone who insists on a bill of sale gets to keep his gun.

I'd bet there are a LOT more guns than posted. You have to remember the Fudds. There are guns that have been passed down from generation to generation. Those firearms aren't included in any type of survey. I don't know how many there could be but in my family alone there's enough to skew those numbers.

Then you take the uncle of my friend's sister who's grandfather owns enough firearms to arm a small army. Lets say he owns about 75 firearms and I bet there's a lot of Grandpa Jones out there.....

I know my example will be anecdotal, but its my direct experience with "gun violence".

I know a lot of people who are shooters and own multiple guns. Lets say at least 50, but its probably more(which would make my 98% number even higher).

I know of exactly 1 who has shot and killed a person and it was in defense of another human being(legal in Texas) and he was exonerated for saving the girls life.

So 98% of my gun owning friends have never shot anybody(to my knowledge), but DAMN can they murder some paper targets LOL.
