    I've been running 77 SMK and Hornady 73 ELD using 8208 and AR Comp powder. I load 2.25 OAL and have no issues with a variety of mags. 2.26 would be max.

    Non-Precision Reloading

    After removing the spent primer make sure to check and set aside any brass where the primer was crimped as they will need to have the crimp removed. Before I got into precision shooting I made thousands of rounds using mixed brass and all were better then 2 MOA.

    When I tried loading my 700 "close to the lands" the bullet was falling out of the brass.

    Looking for information

    I've used both powders and found that the Hodgdon was about 30 fps faster then IMR for a given charge in a 6.5 Creedmoor. The barrel was also a little more broken in when shooting Hodgdon.

    I wouldn't choose a scope power based on mirage. I've had to turn down my 20X because of mirage. Regarding you second post, 6.5 will be fine for 1000. Dial for range, hold for wind.
