Back to back slam fires today..would like opinions

Several years go I had slam fires with my JP .223. They suggested that I try a titanium firing pin. It worked and I still use it.

Rear Bag rider for Tac A1

I shoot a TAC A1. I have found no reason for a rear bag rider. I use a small T.A.B. squeeze bag under the grip. Depending on the target, I find loading the bipod stabling the rifle enough to make the shot.

Geissele Gas Gun Challenge (Eastern Pennsylvania) 2020 Match Schedule

At New Holland the max range is 700 yards and it is a full size IPSC steel target. Most targets are with in 300 - 635 yards. The organizers seem to like 400 yard movers. The GGG matches are laid back and fun. Expect some unusual shooting positions.

Geissele Gas Gun Challenge (Eastern Pennsylvania) 2020 Match Schedule

I shot the Pro-Am last year and the COF was the same. I'm signed up for this year but have a schedule conflict and will miss the match.

    Bipod mount adapter?

I had a sling stud fail during a F-Class match on my Remington 700. Ended up using my range bag as a bipod. Switched to a Pic rail.

    Range Finder Recommendations?

I'm sure that there are better choices but I've been satisfied with the performance of my Leupold RF-2800. Most targets I've ranged have been inside 700 yards but I find consistent repeatability and the results match my friends with more expensive units.

First day out with the new rifle

I made NRA F-Class 600 yard Sharpshooter with a stock Remington LTR, cheap scope and Sierra 175 Matchking. Best group was 2-3/4" @ 600 yards and I suck at reading wind.

    Rifle Scopes Beginner precision scope

I recently bought a Bushnell LRTS from Camera Land and like the scope. I previously bought a Bushnell DMR and liked the reticle. I'd recommend either, both come with the G3 reticle which is simple and works. I also have a Nightforce SHV F1 which is a little above your budget but I...

Rifle Scopes FNG can't decide on a new scope

I don't hunt but I shoot a lot of steel between 300 and 700 yards. A Nightforce SHV 4-14 might work for you.

    Reloading Dies

If your fired brass is all from same manufacturer, I recommend the Redding Bushing die. I use both the Redding and Forster micro seating dies. For my old eyes, the Redding is easier to see. A mentioned earlier, I like a turret press which can handle 3 different cartridges. If only loading...

    Want to start reloading....

For high volume pistol shooting and maybe high volume .223 , a progressive press like a Dillon is the answer. I have loaded about 500,000 rounds on a Dillon 650. For rifle, I mainly now load 6.5 Creedmoor, .223, and .308 and have all of the dies in a Redding T7 turret press. My reloads are...

Rifle Scopes Guidance on The Path... (scope selection assistance)

I have a Remington 700 LTR which has a heavy 20" barrel. I ran Leupold 6.5-20 (2nd focal plane, MOA) for many years but have been moving to Mil F1 scopes on my other rifles. Recently installed the Bushnell LRTS 4.5-18 as mentioned earlier and like it. Previously I ran a Nightforce SHV F1 on...

How often should I rotate mags in an AR 15...or not?

I've been shooting ARs in competition for about 25 years. I don't pay attention which mag is used and haven't ever had a mag failure except for a cheap 40 rd.

I've been running one of the Bushnell DMR 2 for two years on my AR-15 shooting local matches and like it. The G3 reticle works for me.

Rifle Scopes Nightforce Mil-R ... Good Reticle for Beginner?

I've had a SHV F1 for a couple of years. I dial elevation and hold wind and like the Mil-R reticle. Its plenty of scope for 600 yards. I never use the illumination.

    6.5cm Bullet question

I'm working with the Hornady 140 ELD Match in a 24" Tikka. I had settled on 2.81 OAL but recently tried a variety of lengths up to 2.92. None of the long lengths looked promising but I did load up some more @ 2.83 to try.
