    Getting back into reloading 223 rem. Need some thoughts

    For my AR I'ver used Varget and 8208 with both 69 and 77 SMK with good results. Since I shoot very high volume and don't want to weigh each each charge, I've settled on 8208 since it seems to meter better.

    For the guns I shoot a lot I've always ended up switching to the Type S bushing die. To me, the key is sticking to the same brass manufacturer. The reason for the Type S is to avoid overworking the neck.

    I've got the original DMR which I like. Cameraland shows a "Open Box" DMR 2 for $900 on their website. I also have Nightforce SHV which I like and falls into your price level.

    I ran a 1-4 on a 3-gun rifle and it was decent to 300 but marginal beyond that. The new Vortex Strike Eagle in 1-6 and 1-8 looks intereting.

    Another OCW test

    I'm also doing load development using 140 ELD and IMR 4350. In my test, the factory ELD load seemed the best but I believe I see a node around 41.0 and possibly one around 42.4 as 42.3 looked O.K. with no pressure signs.
