Scope magnification for 800 yards or so.

I'm currently shooting a 308 bolt gun and 223ar. I'd like to shoot those out to about 800 yards or so. I'm also looking at doing a tikka build to shoot out to 1000 at some point. Haven't decided on a caliber yet. Maybe a 22 creedmore. Question is, do you need more than a 4-20x50 to...

    sizing new brass

I didn't know they make the sizing mandrels. I had always thought there had to be a better way than to pull the sizing button out of the brass on the upstroke. I think I'll try a mandrel and see if that makes a difference for me.

If you wear prescription glasses and have trouble seeing the front sight Bob Jones makes a set of lenses that fit in his rear sights. They work pretty good and also have different apertures with hoods

Lubrication on the sear? Do or don't?

I had my Savage apart and replaced the acu trigger with a rifle basics. I have run the gun with a little oil on the sear with out any problems and its been in some dirty places before. I was adjusting the rifle basics with a dry sear. After I got it set up I put some clp on the sear and...

How much slop in a mag well is acceptable?

The mags lock in the mag well. i was just wondering how much movement should there be in the magazine while its in the mag well. My Savage mags lock in tight. The CDI moves around some.

How much slop in a mag well is acceptable?

I'm sure it will but I don't want it set so the bolt hits the feed lips.

How much slop in a mag well is acceptable?

Not sure if this should go here or the gun smithing section but here goes I have a stock that has been rendered useless due to improper inletting. This happened a while ago but I'm still sitting on the stock and was going to attempt to fix things with a bedding job. Right now if the...

Gunsmithing Epoxy or steel bedding compound or what?

I've got all the tools to do this with including the stock maker screws. I think I'm going to just rebed the whole stock. I was worried about having a thin layer of bedding in the back of the bottom metal/mag well area getting beat up ( thats why I was asking whats better ) but if I refit...
