    Tikka T3 Thread

Here's a video that describes the fix for a CTR failure-to-feed issue that persisted even after the magazine retaining-hole mod was performed. The video's narrator doesn't say exactly what his issue was, so I'm not sure whether it's the same as yours, but take a look:

    Tikka T3 Thread

One factor that may be contributing to the difference in opinion: It's guaranteed that anyone who recommends Tikka is aware that Ruger exists, but it's not nearly so certain that a Ruger fan -- especially in the USA -- has even heard of SAKO or Tikka. So your request for opinions from people...

    Hard case for air travel

The Nanuk 995 + Eberlestock E2B combination weighs the same (just over 25 pounds) as a Pelican 1750 with foam. EDIT: No it doesn't. Sorry. Nanuk + bag is 29.1 pounds, Pelican w/ foam is 3.5 pounds lighter, at 25.6 pounds.

    Newbie feedback welcome!

Thanks! I live in the South Bay, work on the Peninsula. "Not too crowded" was exactly what I was hoping to hear. One thing that helped me a lot was replacing my Tikka's pistol grip with a Masterpiece Arms EVG; I think it'll fit your rifle, too. With the MPA grip, I find it difficult NOT to...

    Newbie feedback welcome!

I'm a newbie, too, so take this for what it's worth. I watched the Group 1 and Group 3 videos (Group 3 more carefully than Group 1). It looks as though your finger position on the trigger is different from what I've been taught. Your finger seems to be canted downward, maybe with the trigger...

Rifle Scopes Scope mount - MOA

I'll assume that you're serious. The 300 Win Mag is generally considered to have a maximum effective range of 1500 yards. If you lack the experience to intuitively see why, you can use an online ballistic calculator to get a rough idea. Here's one...

    Suppressors California and suppressors

California's suppressor law is pretty simple: No. The same law is also applied to most things you'd want to do with a semi-auto firearm. Thankfully, though, bolt guns have few restrictions other than barrel length and prohibition of .50 BMG.

Rifle Scopes The Level Questions Asked

You mean, you get more enjoyment from shooting your rifle than from clamping it in a vise and dicking around with levels and torque wrenches for hours at a time? Weird.

Rifle Scopes The Level Questions Asked

When you say that you set up the scope and then fit the rifle, does "fit the rifle" include ensuring that the scope reticle is level even if the fitted rifle ends up canted left or right? Because this thread has gone all over the place, but I think that was the point that Frank was initially...

    Tikka T3 Thread

SAKO's been in business for almost a hundred years. They've been making civilian rifles for 75 years and the Tikka T3 and T3x for 15. Now they're owned by Beretta Holding Group, and with arrangements like that there's always the danger that some corporate beancounter might decide to shut down...

Pelican Case with Folding Stock Rifle

Yeah, that Peak case I linked to also takes some of the top foam out to make room for the folded stock. I don't have one of their cases, but from the photos, their relief looks a little excessive; I think that their top-foam cutout could be filled with a square of adhesive-backed lower-density...

Pelican Case with Folding Stock Rifle

Unfolded, the widest part of my Tac A1 is across the scope's windage/parallax knobs. The folded stock only adds half an inch to that width. BTW, here's a case with foam already cut for a folded Tac A1: https://www.peakcase.com/peakcase-tikka-t3x-tac-a1-case.html They do unfolded, too...

Rifle Scopes The Level Questions Asked

I guess it depends on the spirit level. Half a degree is enough to move mine clearly outside the lines. I don't know, but a quick web search brings up this test from 4 years ago at precisionrifleblog.com, in which 18 high-end tactical scopes were evaluated...

Rifle Scopes The Level Questions Asked

It seems that way to me, because Spuhr also provides a little wedge to square the scope to the mount... So I think their expected mounting procedure is: Spuhr mount on the rail, scope loose in the rings. Rotate the rifle until the mount's built-in bubble is centered. Use the wedge to square up...

SPUHR mount for NF BEAST on a NF ATACR 5-25 x 56 F1 anyone...?

Those scopes have the same 150 mm mounting length, so the 147 mm Spuhr mount will fit on the ATACR as well as it fits on the BEAST.

Rifle Scopes The Level Questions Asked

As I wrote before, I'm a novice. But here's how I think about reticle cant and scope-mounted bubble levels. Gentle guidance and corrections to my understanding are welcome. A solid, consistent position, with the rifle comfortably and naturally held in the shoulder pocket, is of utmost...

Loose barrel? Tikka t3x tac a1

Be careful when you put the handguard back on. Those two screws are ridiculously soft and it doesn't take much torque at all to strip out the internal hex.
