    Thanks, Pat. I wasn't planning on annealing the brass until I'd fired them a few times. I suppose softening the brass up a bit before stretching it out is a good idea.

    I ended up ordering the Burris XTR rings in 1 inch height. They are heavy, but definitey bomb proof. If my scope loses zero, it won't be the rings' fault!

    I've done that before in a pinch but am always a bit nervous about having the scope get damaged while a bit crooked in the rings. The added pressure on the front of each ring seems likely to dent the tube to me.

    They would probably work ok for an air rifle that doesn't have recoil which is what I would buy them for. I don't think I'd trust them to hold zero with a powder burner.

    Good point. In my excitement I didn't really pay much attention to the height. The seller says the profile is 21mm high. I imagine they are talking saddle height?

    If Ted and Matt are also part owners, it is even more reason to be skeptical of the hype they put out. I would expect them to use their platforms to talk up their own products.
