    Best 6mm cartridge*

The 6xc was developed before AICS mags. Or at least before they were popular. It was designed for use in the Tubb2000 rifle utilizing the SR25 magazines. It was designed for NRA across the course shooting where it still dominates, but has entirely different requirements than PRS. 6xc is a...

    Timing self timing brakes

I eyeball it just like most everyone else. If you need to have it perfect, spend the time to get it perfect and then mark it with some paint or a dark sharpie.

Best brake reducing blast to the shooter?

I ran a Tubb 5-Star on my 6xc last season. I liked it over the APA LB and Hellfire. I felt it cut recoil well and didn't blast the shooter with concussion. It's not the sleekest looking brake though.

    Question on velocity correction

980 yards ranged with Sig BDX3k. I was pleasantly surprised. I agree on all other points.

DO i really need a Kestrel?

A Kestrel is not necessary, but they are nice to have. I shot matches for two years with my phone and BalliticAE. It was a little cumbersome and my phone battery didn’t always want to last the whole day. I never really had full confidence in the dope it produced. I bought a Kestrel 5700...

    Question on velocity correction

Thank you for clearing up any big misconceptions about modern chronos being inaccurate. I have not read or heard anywhere that they had been tested against more expensive and precise speed measurement systems. I never meant to imply that they are wildly inaccurate. OP didn’t mention how much...

    Question on velocity correction

Velocity from your chronograph isn’t always going to be correct, and there is no reasonable way to test it’s accuracy. Don’t rely on it as an absolute value. It’s an excellent tool to measure consistency, but it could easily be giving you the wrong speed. Think of it like trying to measure to...

Which comes first, rifle or scope

This is my Tikka T1x ($480) in a KRG Bravo ($395) with a Vortex Viper PST gen1 ffp scope ($500 new old stock @ Europtic). It’s silly accurate with Eley Club ($6.25). You don’t have to break the bank to have fun.

flying out of LGA, JFK, Newark international airport with firearms

Maybe you could have just posted about your experiences with flying in and out of New England instead of making an insulting post directed at someone you don’t know. Maybe you’re just a douche that likes to insult people anonymously? Thanks for the great info though.

flying out of LGA, JFK, Newark international airport with firearms

How far are you from Manchester, NH? Driving a couple hours on this end might be worth it.

flying out of LGA, JFK, Newark international airport with firearms

None of the airports you mentioned are in “free” states. They are marginally better than NYC in regards to gun laws, marginally. If I were flying with firearms, I’d drive up to several hours to avoid them. I live just north of Boston and drove New England for a living for 10 years. I’m quite...

flying out of LGA, JFK, Newark international airport with firearms

Why not find a way to ship your rifles to wherever you’re going? You could always fly out of Manchester, NH.

    New Kestrel® HUD and Kestrel® Ballistics 2700

Generally, ranging targets in not necessary at PRS matches in my area. There is some variation depending on what target is shot at from any given firing position. It can vary +/- 10 yards. I believe there can be a small advantage to ranging each target for a stage from match to match as not...

Best bullets per price point and availability for 0.264?

Bullet choice is not the place to be cheap. Choose a proven performer and pay what they cost. That being said, different barrels will shoot some bullets better than others for no apparent reasons. The differences in cost for 2500 bullets will probably be less than $100.

    New Kestrel® HUD and Kestrel® Ballistics 2700

Maybe this could be accomplished in the AB app? Users could fill out stage specific range cards before the match similar to the DRS e-dope card. Users could then select the stage card to be used and then range the targets in order and the HUD would display the stage card and fill in the firing...

    New Kestrel® HUD and Kestrel® Ballistics 2700

Ideally, for PRS competitions, a shooter should be able to walk up to the stage, range the targets in order of engagement, and the HUD will display either a range card or scrollable target list. I’m not sure how the targets could then be labeled in the HUD to match the target designations. You...

Trump Jr. poses with AR 15

Because at their core, the Democrats are foul, rotten, miserable people. They aren’t happy unless everyone else is at least as miserable as they are.
