Accuracy International to end production of AE

^^That is the only problem with AI. They're so good, it's boring! I'm very curious to see what comes next, but doubt I'll upgrade anytime soon.

Accuracy International to end production of AE

My guess: AE -> SA PSR, but without the bonded chassis SA AX -> SA PSR LA AX -> PSR (but not as a kit) They will keep the legacy AW for now. It would be like Porsche stopping to make the 911 otherwise...

Accuracy International to end production of AE

I'm guessing matt is correct, as the short-action PSR is somewhat confirmed. But I hope there will still be a semi-affordable platform, like the AE. I'm curious, but nostalgia is already kicking in, hoping they will still offer the "classic" thumb-hole stock on their new models. Though I'm...

To dryfire or not to dryfire???? That is the question!!!!!

Yep, i dry-fire about 4-5x as much as I actually fire my bolt gun. Also, the cz455 rimfire is supposedly safe to dry-fire, and haven't had issues with it yet. But my understanding is that most others don't like dry-fire as much. You could use spend cartridges to stop the firing hammer on...

    Reloaders with AI MKIII's ??

Oh yeah, if you do load them really close or into to the lands, you could get a pressure spike. So adjust/test loads accordingly.

Free handed while standing. What's your farthest hit??

You just have to hit the first shot. You'll be too fatigued for any follow up shots. At least, I would be. Was doing some freehand 100m shooting the other day, but after maybe 3 shots I was unable to keep the reticle on the 100% IPSC target! (my physical fitness/upper body strength sucks though)

    Reloaders with AI MKIII's ??

The smk's dont mind a bit of jump, so I wouldn't worry about that. The 155 scenars I'm using do like to be loaded a bit longer. At 2,86" right now, which is about the max that will reliably feed from the magazine, but most consistent results were around 2,88/2,89 For my short-range indoor load...

Need an AR-10 Variant, need it fast... What are the options for a GOOD/GREAT platform?

I'm not entirely familiar with US laws, or product availability, but often read of guys buying stripped (ar15) lowers just to they can build them up later should they ban them. Might be something to consider if you can get those quickly, and if it's legal.

    Trainers? I'm Clueless

I have no experience with the savage, but agree with the sentiment of above post. A CZ might be worth upgrading though, since there is a nice manners stock for it, and you can get a good barrel (or you might get lucky with the factory barrel). But I'd probably look into selling it for something...

    Trainers? I'm Clueless

cz455 varmint, of if thats too much, the above. I know with the CZ you can swap the barrel to a lilja later on. Personally, I don't plan on upgrading mine, but selling it for an annie when funds permit.

Full time irons for GAP-10 (Not BUIS)

You could get cheaper optics for now, not much price difference compared to a good set of irons. Think SWFA fixed 10x or similar. Of course you could keep the irons on there as BUIS later on, which you can't with the cheaper scope, so it will depend on your own preference. Don't you have a...

AI AW308 aftermarket caliber options ?

The swede, or the .284 as well? I know the swede is a few thousands larger, but .284 specs say .473 exactly.

AI AW308 aftermarket caliber options ?

If single shot is an option, a 6.5x55 swede and .284 / 6.5-.284 should fit in the short action AI as well. Haven't tried, but considered it for 1000y+ comps. Still undecided, might wait and buy long action and make a 300wm/7wsm switch-barrel.

    Accuracy International AX338 questions

What I heard is that the upcoming AX300 will basically be the PSR without the rest of the kit. It would make sense if they would do the same with the 338 and 308, but haven't heard anything about that yet.

Just picked up my AI AW

Great, for me the first 300wm AW i've seen posted with the new skins as well. Sure looks pretty :)

Help, 7mm rem mag load WAAAY OFF!

So how did the factory loads work for you, group-wise? These all don't look that great. As OCW goes, my guess is there is a ocw node somewhere around the 69.0 - 69.8 loads, as those seem to be grouping around the same area from point of aim. I'd try some loads in that area with maybe .4gr...

300 win mag loads need help

The VV manual only has loads for bullets up to 200gr. They give min: 60.9gr max: 70.9gr for the 200gr sierra. In their 24,5" test barrel 2526fps to 2795fps. You might want to look at N570 as well. 74.7gr to 81.9gr. In their 24,5" test barrel 2615fps to 2923fps. If you contact berger, they'll...

    Accuracy International PSR User Reviews

Hi tom, Thank you for your interest. Actually, buying barrels from AI wouldn't be a problem, mostly that I don't expect to see you catering to the specific needs of such a niche market that is the Netherlands. Or actually, probably just me. It's mainly that I can't legally own a 338 barrel...

Accuracy international AE MKIII or GAP Crusader

different magazine (aw: double stack/double feed, ae mk1: single stack/single feed, ae mk2/3: double stack single feed) (mk2/3 uses AICS mags) aw has action bonded to chassis. mk1 and mk2 had different bolt safeties, mk3 has the same. same trigger. aw barrels fit in ae, not the other way around...
