Info request: Out of the box accuracy - CZ455 vs Savage Mk II

I've gotted lucky last sunday, best group was 0,75" at 100m, but the rest seems very inconsistent. Ranging from 1" to more like 3". I'm at 625 round down the tube right now. but I'm curious to see what will happen the next 500 or so. Your post gave me an excuses to burn through some of the...

Probably something about post count, many forums have such a limit for the first xx posts due to spam-bots.

    Rifle Scopes Uknown Scope Accessory

Still no closer, but I found this other picture. It's from a videogame called sniper ghost warrior 2, and features what looks to be an MSR with some kind of device strapped to the scope (and a few too many turrets for my tastes, not sure if we can take this seriously).

I would guess: laser range finder Also check this official MSR picture: Possibly an official MSR accessory?

    Rem 700 PSS .223

I say, bedding and rebarreling. I would expect much better results than "fixing" the factory barrel. Also maybe a trigger upgrade? I'd stay with .223 but it would largely depend on the range you want to shoot at. At least stay with the same bolt face, otherwise I'd say get another gun for...

    Accuracy International 22LR Trainer?

What caliber do you consider cheaper to shoot than .308, which does use the same bolt face? If possible, i would get a .223 bolt for the AI, but haven't found anything that is really cheaper than .308 Most of the cartridges that use cheaper .224 caliber bullets are barrel burners, so it's not...

DIP rail + QD scope mount?

I'm not sure what I'll do yet. Might just keep swapping them around and use a torque wrench for consistency, or buy a cheap red dot for the 22 just for fun/cheap offhand shooting and keep the scope on the 308 for now.

CZ 455 PT with yo dave kit issue

how about no shim, just spring? I'm running no shim, 2nd lightest spring. Was good enough for me not to bother with the shims.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Pistol with most interchangable calibers...

Most of the 1911 .22 builds I know of have an aluminium frame, but depending on his country he could go for a semi-custom built .22 1911. Same with glock, plenty of frames on the market.

    Rifle Scopes shooting with glasses

Sorry, cant help you with the species department. Though interested in hunting, I haven't done so myself due to the cost involved to get certified. Someday.... There are opportunities for guest hunters to bring their own guns. But your right, there is some paperwork involved. Germany is way less...

    Rifle Scopes shooting with glasses

Don't know about the US, but there is an optometrist specialised in corrective shooting eyewear in the Netherlands. Seems like a niche though, not sure if there's anything like that in your area. I did bring my reddot sight with me when I went to the regular optometrist though, as I was having...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Pistol with most interchangable calibers...

1911/2011: 22lr, 9mm, .40, .45, .38 super all with one frame. ps, which country? sounds almost as bad as mine. (We can own up to 5 guns, but as many conversion kits as we like, and new shooters need to start with rimfire since a couple of months)

    CZ455 trainer or ANSCHUTZ?

Any idea what kind of ammo he was shooting? If just some bulk ammo, it probably wouldn't perform much if any better than OEM. That, or he has a really great OEM barrel (or bad lilja). I'd love to hear what kind of groups you get out of it! Might have gotten real lucky with it.

    Rifle Scopes shooting with glasses

Sorry to hear about your injury. I hope it'll be better soon. I don't like shooting with my corrective glasses as much (but my correction in that eye is only -1.00, so well within what I can correct with a scope objective). I've read several posts about this on other forums as I'd rather just...

Rifle Scopes vortex 2.5-10x32 FFP or 4-16x50 FFP

+1 This is a great idea, 3gunners do it, military does it, but I suppose great for hunters as well. Probably cheaper than getting a scope with an insane magnification range (like that 2.5-25 you mentioned).

    CZ455 trainer or ANSCHUTZ?

I feel the CZ 455 is to rimfire what a remington 700 is to centerfire bolt actions. Hit or miss in terms of accuracy, but with some work they will rival the high end factory stuff. Same as with starting with the sps-v and working your way up to a (semi-)custom rig. You COULD go with the AI or...

Rifle Scopes vortex 2.5-10x32 FFP or 4-16x50 FFP

You can never have enough power, so what needs to be determined is if 4x isn't too much for your close-range shooting. So try to use some scopes at 4x, and see how that works out at the closest range you will realistically be shooting. If you don't feel any need to go lower than 4x, get the 4-16.

    CZ455 trainer or ANSCHUTZ?

After pillar bedding, lilja barrel, different trigger? barrel shimming? and probably some other stuff, you've put plenty of money and effort in it. I wouldn't expect the anschutz 64 to be better in this case, but out of the box it probably would be. (Maybe a 54 would be slightly better, but I...

AW vs TRG - first top tier rifle advice

I agree with those saying to go with the .308 If you want to shoot longer ranges, you can easily swap the barrel to a .260 or other 6,5mm caliber. Also, much cheaper to shoot, so you can shoot more often. I'm no hunter, but these guns are heavy. Use your 300wm for hunting, the AW (or TRG) for...

DIP rail + QD scope mount?

Thanks for your help. I figured as much. I couldn't find any pictures of the bottom of the mount, but I suspect the larue spr mounts are not "hollow" on the bottom so that they could fit over the ejection port cutout. Is that correct?
