    Sidearms & Scatterguns barrel ports??

Basically, you lose the barrel length from the point you start porting. No more velocity is gained, or at least not much. I do like raceguns with a comp added to the barrel, but I don't like these so called "hybrids" as much. You need a much heavier load to get the same velocities. ps. to make...

Are Air rifles the pacifier or alternative to ammo availability & cost?

I'd probably save up for something like an AirArms S510+scuba tank. If you want to go even better, you'll be paying about three times that amount for a high-end low volume production airgun. And you know you will want to get the PCP in the end ;) Also, with PCP you can go with (5-10 shot)...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock Gen 3 VS Gen 4

Gen4 potentially has better ergonomics due to interchangeable backstrap, and a larger mag release. There were some initial problems with the extractor of the gen4, but I believe they have been solved for a while. The gen4 uses a different style recoil spring. I really cant tell the difference in...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Which Trijicon RMR for Glock 19?

It is indeed hard to quantify. Main reason to go with the RMR for me was the better/longer warranty, meaning trijicon trust they did a good job. If I would need it for combat, I'd put on some co-witness supressor sights. Would not want to bet my life on it. You could always mount an aimpoint...

Are Air rifles the pacifier or alternative to ammo availability & cost?

In the Netherlands air-rifles are very popular. Mainly due to restrictions/laws on firearms. There are some serious 100m competitions, and also kind of tactical-ish matches outdoor (called: field target) If your not a hunter, there are no outdoor shooting ranges that allow firearms, while air...

    Finally, a bolt gun build.

Would it not be better to just buy a custom action if your not going to use the stock barrel, and have the action trued? The stiller action seems pretty affordable. You will end up slightly more expensive depending on what trigger and stock you buy (though if you buy a second hand stock trigger...

Is one 6.5 more accurate than the other 6.5's?

Dont know about the CM, but have been researching the other options. you will get about 1000+ more shots out of a similarly performing x47 than you would a .260 as you need more powder for the .260. These are estimates using loads that are still in the reloading tables. I'm getting around 2300...

Is one 6.5 more accurate than the other 6.5's?

The 6.5x47 does have some benefits in that it is more efficient with burning the powder. Less powder required to reach the same velocities, which in turn means less throat erosion. But if you want to really push the velocities to the max, and shoot the longest ranges possible, I'd probably go...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Which Trijicon RMR for Glock 19?

Every red dot has issues, but trijicon seems to have the least amount of dissatisfied users. Also, their warranty seems pretty good, though I haven't had to use it yet. I did have an issue with the dot size on my RMR, and thought it was defective. I have the 6.5 moa model, and it appeared at...

AI PSR... Got it need load data

I'm sorry if my sarcastic comment has offended you. That was definately not my intent, and I wish the best for your friends mother. Seriously though: I dont think the AI has specific loads that work better than any other quality rifle in the same caliber. Though any specific barrel, even with...

AI PSR... Got it need load data

You are now in a position to actually use an awesome piece of equipment, and your trying to "cheat" by having others come up of load data? Make a load, and see if it works. Try something else if it doesn't live up to your expectations, or if you think you can do better.

A "third" caliber, but not to reload for...suggestions.

Invest in reloading gear. It will pay itself off fairly quickly even with .223 and .308

Help me build a duel purpose F open rifle

Why would something that works well for 1000y not work as well for the shorter ranges? I can see the other way around, but if you find a caliber that you like at 1000y, why not use it for shorter range as well (you could use cheaper components, and less powder for shorter ranges, but no need to...

Ordering lead times for AE MKIII

Here in Europe where AI is actually making the rifles lead time is about 8 months (at least for me, should be getting mine in april if all goes well. I was quoted 6 months at first.). So if they had to make you one that wasn't in stock, and they would have to get the import/export stuff in...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock Modifications, what mods work best.

For competition use I'd love to see some thread-on compensators for aftermarket threaded barrels, but if you would make it look like it's just a longer slide that might look pretty cool.

Budget ammo advice for 22lr stretching out

I can understand the benefits of higher velocity over the more stable standard velocity rounds. I suppose it would depend on how much it is affected by the wind versus how much it is affected by the instability. Sadly I can't provide real-life experience on the wind part, as I'm limited to...

Budget ammo advice for 22lr stretching out

For the cheap stuff I only shoot CCI standard (it's all i can get that isn't target/match grade). You don't want high velocity (supersonic), because it becomes unstable when going from super to subsonic (generally around 70y or so). This leads to large groups.
