    Obviously not on a Krieger;-) I'm guessing you were holding the bbl and not the upper. You should be able to screw it back together tight and if it doesn't cause the headspace to be short or gas port misalignment, run with it.

    Exactly! The corner of the handle that contacts the receiver is relatively sharp. The trick is doing it without losing caming ability. Another option would be to drill and install a hardened pin like Stolle does to their alloy actions.

    Purely speculation so take it fwiw. I would guess the driller went all of the way thru and knew it. Hence the 2nd taper 300sniper pointed out.
