    Gunsmithing Case Neck Sealing

Let us know how it goes. I'm still curious about your objective. 4000fps?

    Down goes Mosul.

Guess holder is right. Americans have no spine anymore. If I were there, the Cs &Gs would be wearing their penis' and scrotums as ear ornaments ;-) It makes me sad to know that I have been lying to myself saying that the military would never betray our country. After reading your post Delta, I...

    Gunsmithing Case Neck Sealing

Ok, Take your best shooting rifle and punch the throat out a bullet dia. and tell us how it goes;-) Best case is it will only accelerate throat wear.

    Gunsmithing Case Neck Sealing

The only real data I can offer is one instance shooting a 22-6mm 75gr Amax at 3650fps thru an 8 twist at 50 yds. The first 3 or 4 shots put 2 to 4 holes in the paper each shot. After that the jackets stayed on and it started stackin' 'em. I'd credit a rough throat since there was only .010"...

    Gunsmithing Case Neck Sealing

Dang Edds, you're killin' me. I guess a funnel would work. Some wbys do shoot. I am a bad example because I neck size and rely on the case to align the bullet. The "bad" is the disruption of the jacket when it hits the throat. Not much of a prob with low vel /slow twists.

    Gunsmithing Case Neck Sealing

If the throat is that long nothing good can come from it. Some Wbys shoot but they are exceptions to the rule.

    Gunsmithing 1: 9 twist 308

Did someone give you a bbl? Why would you unless you were shooting heavies subsonic? 308 is challenged enough with a 10 or 12 twist;-)

    Gunsmithing Case Neck Sealing

It scares me to think this is possible unless it's a Weatherby. I doubt it would happen with a full charge. I have seen shoulder collapse in a 280AI with a fire forming load but the throat wasn't long.

    Gunsmithing M16 Extractor Length?

I was wondering about the cut in the bolt. Don't think the Badger is going to help.

    Gunsmithing Stiller bolt rubbing

Likely it just has a lot of slop between the bolt and receiver. I'd be willing to bet it doesn't touch when a round is in the chamber.

    Gunsmithing M16 Extractor Length?

It'll be interesting to see what they send you. How deep is your extractor cut?

    Gunsmithing M16 Extractor Length?

Looks like it might be a 223 extractor in a STD bolt. Slot should be cut to about .145" deep. Yours looks much deeper. Also note the flat behind the hook. Way more there than on your bolt. Should be about the same.

    Gunsmithing M16 Extractor Length?

Looks bad. Who's extractor is that? Looks like there is way too much hook. You can salvage it tho. Just weld/solder a pad underneath to hold it out of the face some. Then grind the hook back enough to clear the rim.

    Gunsmithing M16 Extractor Length?

The evidence will be on your brass. If it's in too far the mark will be on the base. I typically paint them with a marksalot to troubleshoot.

    Gunsmithing Stiller bolt rubbing

I'd be more worried about what's rubbing the hide off your index finger ;-) Nothing to be worried about. It's just running on a good fitting nose recess in the bbl.

Gunsmithing What is the longest time a gunsmith took?

My sentiments Exactly! On the other hand. What about the guys that call and call about their gun and when you finally get it done, they never pick it up? I have some that were finished 10 yrs ago.
