AI .308 Twist Rate vs Year of the Bullet

Also fwiw, I learned to shoot and reload well with a .308 and will probably always own one, so no hating here

AI .308 Twist Rate vs Year of the Bullet

Respectfully, why start with a .308? Having owned many, a couple 6.5's and a couple 6mm's of different varieties, I wouldn't even think of choosing It as a first or primary caliber. I say this as someone who really likes the .308, it's just that the .308 is to a .260 what a 168 match king is...

    7mm-300 Win Mag Thoughts

I occasionally shoot with a guy who has one, I think he is getting about 3100 ft/sec with Berger 180's.

    Hand prime?

The rcbs will certainly do you fine. I used one for many years without issue. But don't let the single feeding scare you away from the 21st, it's actually surprisingly fast.

    Hand prime?

@OP What press do you have/are you buying? I prime on a Dillon 550 that has been slightly modified to seat primers approximately .003-.007" under flush. I find this to be the fastest and most accurate method. And I own almost every priming system that has been mentioned so far. In a distant...

    H4350 replacement

If you're looking for a powder for 6.5x47, I'd take a serious look at Varget. I've never really like the 4350 burn rate powders for that cartridge. It'll shoot well, but the higher charge weights fill too much of the case imo. I got tired of tapping the case or using a long drop tube to get the...

    Factory Rem700 with Timney issue

I had this issue years ago with a 510 and called Timney. They instructed me to remove approximately one coil from the trigger spring. That solved the problem for me. Not sure if the CE has a similar design. I'd call Timney tomorrow and discuss with them, they are great to deal with.

AMP annealer sending brass in to be tested

Did they say how long the checking process takes? What caliber(s) are you shooting/annealing? Do you like the AMP so far?

AMP annealer sending brass in to be tested

briscoetab I have a philosophy in life to always seek information from the most educated source available. In this case, the manufacturers are going to be the most knowledgable. If the service is free, I'd absolutely send them some brass, wouldn't even think twice.
