Geissele Cut Rifled SPR Build and Barrel Evaluation. (Part 4 (Load Development 21MAR25)

Jake, ...if it is within your means, I'd appreciate seeing some testing with some of the more "generic" ammo brands that most would find at the more common big box stores. That radial gas porting has really caught my attention. TIA

6 ARC powder consensus for heavies in AR

..a good reason to D/L the published data that came out at the same time as when you purchased your powders. As manufactures update the powder formulations, the published load data updates as well, but may not be as relevant to the "older" lots in peoples possession.

    308 Winchester AR Only

..for my purposes, each of the bullet weights had one good group. Understanding that my perceptions are just that, mine. I've added the test target results to this post, you can look at them and come to your own conclusions. YMMV

Does Aero Precision AR308s do anything different than the others?

...here are some pics of the Aero parts from 2015. My M5 build has worked flawlessly since day one using M118, FGGM 168, various handloads in 155-178gn loads down a 16" CLGS tube w/SLR AGB. There are also some potential "reliable functioning" issues related to choice of bolt catch. YMMV

    New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

...back in the advent of the 6ARC someone in one of the FB groups ran the QL numbers for ALL powders, here are the lists for the 95 , 103 & 108 Hdy projectiles. CAVEAT, this data was posted in 2020 so as always, do your safety workups.

Does Aero Precision AR308s do anything different than the others?

FWIW, others gave you valid suggested resolutions to the problems you have encountered. The easiest fix is to just use Aero buffer system parts in your Aero receiver. For this latest issue you report, it was previously suggested to use some inserted quarters in the buffer tube before...

Does anyone still use case gauges?

FWIW, if your firearm uses a "SAAMI spec chamber", you want a gauge that can display multiple areas that are critical when a casing has been resized after firing or when converting a casing. These areas are the case web, case body circumference, shoulder bump, trim length and bullet ogive...

Does Aero Precision AR308s do anything different than the others?

TBH, if you are using an Aero upper and lower, just purchase the Aero buffer system (tube, buffer and spring) and an Aero BCG and you should be G2G. FWIW, the Aero .308/6.5CM nitrided bolt claims to be a "HP" bolt, i.e., smaller diameter firing pin and firing pin hole. It is smaller than...

    6MM ARC Help !!

...didn't see a final answer from the OP on if he resolved his issue or not. A couple thoughts to throw out to those planning a build: 1. If one starts with an adjustable gas block (AGB), use a standard buffer system to start. The AGB's function is to moderate the gas flow to control any...

    Powder charge for 300-BLK

...why not just use the Lil`Gun for your supersonic loads? LilGun is one of the powders that give the most velocity for given bullet weights and complete burns in short tubes. Considering the limited (practical) distance of the 300BLK cartridge, I prefer the flat-based bullets, less chance...
