    Everyone's reloading goals are different. Mine is 40.3 grains with the same projectile. I get less than 0.5 moa at 100 yards going 2400 fps. I am happy with that for now.

    If you are buying new brass, you may want to work up again towards the latter end of your work up. Lapua brass is the best, but may change your results. To me every variable counts. Are you getting any pressure signs? I ask because hornady's reloading manual shows the max for varget shooting...

    I am currently running 40.3 grains of Varget, with CCI BR2 primers, Lapua brass, and the 178 grain ELDX in a savage 10 rifle re-barreled by Phoenix Custom rifles. I get .25 moa to 500 yards running at 2400 fps. Varget is my favorite powder due to its insensitivity to extreme weather variations.

    Stupid reloading question.

    in theory, reducing the case volume would increase pressure. If you are reloading below the max velocities, I imagine you would not see pressure signs. Not all of my brass would have the dimples from resizing. I use the hornady resizing lube, and get the best uniformity.

    The dimples you speak of sound like you are using too much lube. I have never done any testing on consistency, but have found that it doesn't affect my accuracy.

    Anyone else reload 270?

    I am using the same components with hornady brass, and CCI BR2 primers. The grain load is 55.1 grains, I am getting 2750 fps
