    Spotting scopes

    I started with an Athlon Ares and had no issues. Only gripe was the angled viewer doesn’t rotate. I won a Razor spotter and switched... I prefer the clarity of the Athlon.

    Tough to answer what’s good for you... for me, I use my rrs tripod for my spotter and just ordered a 5H to try it out. Most gear questions will come down to intended use and personal preference.

    Ball Head vs. Leveling Base

    Shooting practice this weekend, I compared my TA3 to my buddies BH55. The ballhead locks up tight and the 55 ball is pretty stable, but... the leveling base is more solid.
