    Fortner?

LL, I’m interested in hearing your thoughts on the action smoothness. Honestly, I’d seen them discontinue the Sporter a few years back I thought and expected it would take a while to get any info. Guess I’ll have to self some unused custom guns or dip into savings.

    Fortner?

Phew, not my ideal stock, I like the grain on yours a lot better Siscoe. I’m thinking of buying an action if they still sell separately. If I found a complete gun like yours though I’d reconsider.

Siscoe that’s amazing, I’ve not logged into AS in a while. I’m kind of afraid to now....

    Fortner?

That’s awesome, is the 1727 the HMR version? I’m wanting a Sporter in 22. Also, is the bolt swappable LH to RH without much work? I’ve one son that’s a lefty so that would be really useful and I hadn’t considered it until seeing yours. On the surface it seems the design might lend itself to that...

T44, thanks for that, I fixed the title so it’s accurate.

    Fortner?

Haha, I think your right. I’m just circling back to considering one so I haven’t searched hard and pulled the name from memory. Trying to get experience from the collective. It seems they’d be smoother than a PCP “toggle” action with the bearings in the design.

Brutus perhaps? I think he’s one armed. I’ve it in my head to harpoon and knife every Leviathan I can and if OZ ever gets to opening a limited set of tags I told my wife I’d go as far as mortgaging the house to buy one. Imagine a 20’ saltie on a harpoon “dart” and float?!? Who’d want to be the...

    Recommend a youth 22...

I’ve a 452 Scout my oldest used and my younger ones will. With the trigger kit from YoDave it’s impressive. I’ve pics somewhere of pretty impressive groups I shot off bags with a little 4x Leupold. It actually did better than an older 54 and a 452 American. Both of those went to people who...

    Fortner?

Anyone ever try one? I’ve liked the idea for a Sporter weight rifle and believe they offered a very limited supply of those but not in the US. I’ve shot PCP Guns with toggle bolts. I’ve not seen a Fordner action for sale in a bit but haven’t looked too hard. Is it just the price point on them...

Shooter65, nice pumpkin heads. Makes me regret missing applying two seasons. I’d be heading south in Sept if I hadn’t missed preference points.

Lol, a few of the Techs at a Site I built in SC laughed about me wasting money on a lottery and hunt when we could go clubs few eaten sized ones that very night. Same Techs Son called in late because he picked off a doe on his commute in and had to run home to clean it before it got hot.

Needs a spot still and a dusting. One cheek started collapsing before we moved and I wasn’t sure if my kids knocked it over as we packed or if the foam collapsed from tightening skin but it was 3 years or more after it was finished so I suspect my kids and it had been sitting like this on a...

Only photos handy, you can see the knife mark just behind the head in the “sweet spot”. Grab them by the jaws, pull them with all your worth INTO the boat, push down hard on jaws basically bending their head down and body up on the side of boat, then quickly drive knife between neck vertebrae...

    Hunting & Fishing Alligator hunting

While it was a bucket list for me I’ve gotten bit a little and a few years ago before my schedule blew up I was talking to PH’s in SA about harpooning and knifing a Croc. That’s my new bucket list for reptiles.

Like others have said, bucket list go harpoon/x-bow and knife. SC and GA if you don’t mind waiting a few years to draw a better zone. SC I believe you could use a rifle on a Landowner tag but I’m not positive. I went the harpoon method and if you think you can roll up on a big one that’s been...

    Hunting & Fishing Missouri hunting

I’ve friends that hunt the Midwest and while they get large enough acreage they have to specify which season(Gun,archery, mzl) as the Lease Holder sub-leases the others. He had asked if I was interested in the trip. His Lease Holder has the properties split into roughly 700-1000 acre parcels and...

Hunting & Fishing Drilling - 3 barrel combo?

There’s a company that sells nice used imports. I know a barrel sleeve that makes say a medium bore a 22 Hornet is fairly pricey but some have them already which is something that’ll add value. If my memory is good, a Nice quality, serviceable Drilling was a little under $1900 for a better known...

Old Loch without the bucks present. The snow line is where I live. Hike down to hunt this spot. Tramping on the history of Titans.
