How are you guys dropping your powder?

Re: How are you guys droppng your powder? I drop the powder a tenth or two low and trickle up on a tuned Redding #2, it is sensitive enough to measure Varget down to the kernel. I found it to be an economical alternative to higher end digital balances, although a digital is probably faster...

    155gn SMK Palma seating depth?

I've worked up the charge and ended up with 47.0gns Varget in new FL sized Lapua brass with CCI BR2 primer, average velocity was 2864fps. The COAL is 2.775" as per Sierra manual and shot well at 100 and 200 yards(.662" and 1.525" 5 shot groups). I read somewhere that these bullets like a jump to...

MARCH 2010 SH 100 TO 300 YD RIMFIRE COMPETITION

Re: MARCH 2010 SH 100 TO 300 YD RIMFIRE COMPETITION Well it's been a while since I've posted up some scores and now I see the rules have changed, oops. We are now shooting 25 shots at gongs and targets, correct? Not a big deal, I shot a 296-11x TQ4 prone and my gong size is unofficial. Guess...

    All these .22 duds

Re: All these .22 duds Ida, I'm curious as to what type of ammo and rifle you run. I think I choose my words poorly when I said I have had "many" duds. My round count was just under 4900 last year and had probably around 10 FTF's, I didn't really keep track of them. I just get nervous when...

    All these .22 duds

Re: All these .22 duds I get occasional duds and I use decent ammo,SK Standard Plus (same as Wolf Match). My theory on it is that there are sometimes air pockets in the rim that don't have primer material where the firing pin strikes.I believe a dirty weapon could be an issue but my duds...

    300 Yard .22LR -&- SH 200 Yard Gong Competition

Re: 300 Yard .22LR -&- SH 200 Yard Gong Competition I've been shooting a 3" ShootNC at 100yd all along (instead of 3.5") and can manage a 30 of 30 sometimes if the wind is cooperating, it is not a given though. I'm all for a 25 round match since it's better ammo management. I will pick and...

Lyman 1200DPS 3 vs. RCBS Chargemaster

I'm looking to get a powder dispenser and I would like comments on these units. It looks like the Chargemaster can separate the scale from the dispenser. Can the Lyman be used as a scale only? It would be nice for weighing bullets, cases, etc. Thanks for any insight. Steve
