Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC 16.5" Barrel Build

Install is stupid-simple. Remove the two screws that attach the original stock to the action. Attach the chassis to the action utilizing the two included screws and torque to spec Tada! Just waiting on a buffer tube (ordered) to complete the build.

Thanks. 9.8 lbs without glass, right?

Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC 16.5" Barrel Build

I'm working on a lightweight build based on a MDT LSS chassis and couldn't find a step-by-step thread here on the Hide for a LSS build. So ... here goes. This is a budget-ish build that will eventually be suppressed (Originally tried to buy my suppressor using the EForms system, but that's...

Need better choices for vinyl stencils for camo paint

^Agree I've used manilla file folders. Feather the edges by holding the stencil off of the item you're painting by a couple centimeters (more distance = more feathering).

High Protein Diet and Ammonia Sweats

Based solely on what you put in your OP, I would tend to agree with others' analysis that you need to up your water intake. Hydrate (with water, not sugary sports drinks, etc) all day long and continue to hydrate while exercising. It's a simple and low-risk change that should help.

2014 SNIPER ADVENTURE CHALLENGE - Announcement

I don't mean to clutter up the announcement thread. If I need to start a new thread just let me know. Planning to do the race this year and have a couple questions for the veterans who've done it in years past: 1. For those who didn't utilize a Gunslinger-style pack, how did you carry your...

    Backpack for competitions

I used to be an Eberlestock dealer ... until they made it too difficult. I still like Eberlestock packs a lot and own three of them. One of them is an original Gunslinger and its water bladder pouches are configured as you describe - two pouches for two bladders. I just carry smaller bladders...

    tactical pants

I'm a big fan of the VertX Phantom LT pants. I wear them all year 'round for work. Not overtly tacticool. The cargo pockets lay flat and have a unique top flap that works well but doesn't stick out as overly cargo-y. More of an athletic fit than most tactical pants with a slightly lower rise...

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock 20

Just for the sake of clarity, the ballistic gel chart is a joke. Notice the nuclear mushroom at the mid-point of the 10mm's penetration. ;)

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Glock 20

I'm not a Glock fanboi, but I like my Glock 20. I've used it for hog hunting with 200 grain loads and it knocks 'em down like dominoes. Here's a little ballistic gel comparison for those who think 10mm is a wasted caliber. ;)

Do you think they will go house to house in Connecticut?

Do you actually believe this is about personal property?

    Fieldcraft 72 hour loadout

I know I'm a newb here on SH, but I've been teaching personal and corporate preparedness for some time. Start your pack with the Rule of Threes. 1. You can survive for 3 minutes without air or treatment of emergency medical conditions 2. You can survive for 3 hours without shelter in a harsh...

    Gunsmithing Remington factory stocks

Relative newb to long range (300M+) shooting here so take this for what it's worth .... I'm shooting a 700 SPS with the original Hogue stock on a Harris bi-pod and can put several rounds in the same ragged hole at 100 yards (pic below). I'm running a SWFA fixed 20X optic on Badger Ordnance...

    2013 SNIPER ADVENTURE CHALLENGE

Zak are you going to throw up a thread for the 2014 challenge? I finally have a teammate who's willing and we're starting to train up, but it would be nice to be able to toss out a few questions. Looking forward to it!

    2013 SNIPER ADVENTURE CHALLENGE

Very interesting read. I really wanted to do this event this year, but was unable to find a local teammate. I've done a fair amount of adventure racing and it always surprises me when competitors complain about the "adventures" encountered along the way. Isn't part of the appeal encountering...
