With all due respect, I'm wasn't talking about shooting from the bench or a nice solid prone position. You should try shooting on a rooftop, tank trap, unstable barricade before you thump your chest and pull out your clit.
Rookie mistake. Never load a large lot while you are still developing a load. The most I would load is 10 for each charge or OAL. That's how you discover which ones will allow your handgun to function and if you have a chronograph, which ones also provides the most consistency.
Maybe you can...
I just had my Savage 12 in .223 Rem re-barreled for PRS matches and am I glad I had it threaded. I thought I did not need to install a muzzle brake on it because of the caliber. I did a quick test with it bare and with an Area 419 Hellfire self-timing brake on. It was such a huge difference...
I'm sorry but your Dad is very much wrong. I just finished breaking in a new barrel on my Savage 12 in .223 Remington. I was considering not installing a muzzle brake on it and kept it off during the break in (lots of cleaning in-between shots). After the break-in I decided to do a comparison...
I think you totally missed the OP's point. And yes, I have had DIs, Black Hats, Air Assault Instructors, NCOPD Instructors, TAC Officers and other instructors scream into my face plenty of times. But that's not the point.
Until I find an LPVO that is light enough, goes up to at least 6x (8x preferred) and is a true 1x on the low end; I'm stickcing to my micros. Those fit my needs based on my METT-T. YMMV.
Most Precision rifle competitors I have talkeed to prefer heavier rifles because they are generally more stable and helps keep them on target, shot-to-shot, which helps them spot their own shots.
I don't understand how this buffer supposedly helps Jerry Miculek stay on target when shooting a .223/5.56 AR when he can do this with a large caliber DA revolver in the first place?
That's how I have all my rigs setup because I am far-sighter. If I put the bubble behindd the turrets, not only will the bubble get in the way, it's all a blur to me.
IIRC, PRS mandates that most targets be no smaller than 2 MOA. Which raises my BS flag that LaRue is doing a hard sell of a rifle that isn't even available even in picture form on their website.
The right tool for the right task. My SBR has a 8.5" 300 BLK upper with SDN-6 7.62 can, an Aimpoint Micro, Surefire X300 Ultra and loaded with Hornady 190-grain SUB-X Subsonic rounds and is my primary home defensive gun. I won't have to worry about hearing protection should I need it and all I...
LWRC M6A2 (SBR). I have one that I ran for over 14k rounds, to include a 3-day Tactical Carbine Course, without cleaning. I only applied lube (Slip 2000 EWL) at the start of the course. I finally took it apart after that course (and over 14k of mostly of Wolf and Tula steel cased ammo) and...
It sounds to me that the scenario the OP presented is invalid for the question because both shooters found their Nodes. The whole idea of a Node is to find the recipe your Rifle System likes. It really doesn't matter if you find it through experimentation and multiple range trips; or by...
I have two I would not hesitate to grab if that was all the ammo available; either my CETME FAL or my LWRC REPR-16. Both handle even the crappiest surplus or steel cased ammo.
