    Active hearing protection

    I received my MSA with gel cups from Triad last night and compared them directly with my 27db NRR muffs. The MSA's offer great noise reduction to me. I used a calibrate fire cracker. I would say don't get to hung up on the NRR rating.

    That second link definitely discribes what I see here in South Eastern CT. I've seem packs of a half dozen or more numerous times while out and about. Its erie hearing multiple large packs hollowing at night.

    If anyone is interested in understanding how you can use angles to measure linear distance I would suggest googling the "small angle approximation" and the coresponding trigonometry that is involved. The method is what the entire ranging principle is based on.
