I am waiting on a AAC M4 1000 for a Rem 700 in 223. I am wanting to stock up on some subsonic ammo. Can I get some sources for ammo in stock for purchase and some recommendations?
Thanks
I heard Rem. discontinued making it. I like it because I can find my brass in the hay while woodchuckin. I started using it for highpower comp. because the "Brass Rats" used to scarf up all the brass and I could pick mine out of their stash!
Mine are getting old and I need to find some.
I am looking at purchasing some once fired .223 brass from Wideners. Here is the link:
Once Fired Lake City Brass
Just let me know if the brass would have crimed in primers. I have sent them an e-mail but have not yet heard back.
Thanks in advance.
Hello all, I'm thinking of picking up a bolt action .223 for hunting and target shooting out to 400-600yds and was hoping for a few suggestions. I'm on a budget around $600 and would like find a gun that just plain shoots (MOA or less on factory match ammo) without a whole lot of customization...
What are the best Hodgdon powders to use for .223 ammo?
52gr.?
62gr.?
68-69gr.?
77gr.?
I am new to reloading and would like to try this powder first.
Also Can you reload Hornady TAP casings? Better? Problems?
Thanks guys.
I got a new Weatherby TRR chambered in .223 Rem which has a Kreiger barrel, bought some factory Reminton 55 gr SP and Winchester 55 gr. Silvertip factory ammo. I also decided to load some home brew ammo to start building loads of my own.
I picked up some Sierra 55 gr. HPBT bullets, some Midway...
What barrel length is anyone using on their AR uppers to get out to 600yds (using 77gr ammo) accurately and consistently?
Would a 16" do the job or does it need to be longer?
Thanks for your help.
Ok...yeah I hear you laughing. But I was planning on shooting in a 1K match on Sat. The only problem is I sold my DTA SRS and now only have one rifle right now that COULD maybe make it to a grand....that being a 1:7 twist, 26" barreled .223.
I have some 77grn Nosler BTHP bullets and lots of...
Hey guys,
New guy here. I’m expecting to pick up my first precision bolt gun this week and I need to find some glass for it. Here are the details…
Rifle = Remington 700 5r in .223, Range = 50-300yrds, Targets = Paper & steel. Budget = $600-$800. What I’m looking for in a scope…
Quality name...
I've got a R700 in .223 that I got from a relative. He had a fair amount of work done to it previously, and it sits in a varminter stock. I'm not a big fan of them, but I was thinking of throwing it into an AICS 1.5.
Would it be a waste of time? Should I just go for a .308/6.5 Creedmore/...
Shot this today during load development. The rifle is .223 on a R700 with a 20" 8 twist Lilja 3 groove, and a Mcm A3. Scope is a Premier Heritage. The rifle was built by Randy of R+D precision. The barrel had a few hundred rounds through it prior to today without cleaning including some moly. No...
Does anyone know for sure what the twist rate is on this rifle? It's a SS synthetic stock if that's any help ...my son's rifle, was told @ Cabela's it was a 9 twist, being told by "EXPERT" ruger don't make 9 twist in .223
I am having a real hard time depriming military brass. I keep breaking the depriming die pin on both .308 and .223. I have some .308 brass that is non American...I have a real hard time with it. What could I be doing wrong? thanks
