Detailed magnified pictures of brass prep

Found another good use for my $30 bore scope, and thought some of you would enjoy a “slide show”. Not meaning to ask a question or make a major statement, just a series of macro photos inside Lapua brass, showing some (maybe) interesting phenomena, and i guess a suggestion to repurpose your...

    Good scale around $150

Hello, I am looking for advice on a decent reliable powder scale. I currently have a Frankford Arsenal scale that I am really not happy with. It seems to be fairly consistent on its weight, however my biggest complaint is that it jumps when trickling powder. So for example I've been using 41.8gr...

    Hornady Match dies 6.5 prc

I’m having trouble with my set of Hornady match dies. The only way to get -.002 on a fire case is to have the die so far down that it’s chipping the teeth on the Hornady lock and load bushing. I’m running a .290 neck bushing with .002 neck tension with once fired Hornady brass. Any ideas? Thanks

    Load Variation in a Dillon

I've discussed the variation of loads in a Dillon with a couple friends lately. That got me to wondering about testing just how much mine vary. Then in perfect timing, one of the articles in Dillon Precision's latest catalog was explaining a test they performed on comparing powder charge...

Reloading Equipment Giraud Power Trimmer setup in 223 ***SOLD***

    Gunsmithing 6BRA Help

Hi all. With the recent purchase of a 6bra barrel for my prs rifle I just have 1 question about forming the brass. It may seem like a stupid question but before fire forming do I run the standard lapua 6br brass through the sizing die? Thanks and have a good day!

Problems with 6.5 Grendel (Accuracy & cycling issues) Need Help

So I just built a 6.5 Grendel, bought the complete upper from Grendel Hunter (18" Mid Length) and I've taken it out to the range 4 times now. Every single time out it's had problems cycling and feeding the ammunition and the accuracy has been really bad. Sometimes the bolt doesn't want to lock...

    Crushing powder when seating

(First post) I am reloading for 308. 208gr hornady eld with Reloader 15 using the hornady reloading manual. About halfway through my powder charge increments, I started hearing a crunching sound as I seated the bullet. I was seating to the same depth, and obviously more powder takes up more...

    Best single stage reloading kit

I’m looking at a rcbs rock chucker supreme or a lee kit, I have no prior reloading experience but am generally a quick learner! I want a kit that will last forever and is relatively simple and inexpensive! Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!

DIY 3D Printed Bullet Feeder (credit to AmmoMike83 over on Thingiverse)

First things first, this is not my creation, I am just spreading the information. With the sinking cost of 3d printers, it is becoming more advantageous for us DIY types to make the things we need instead of buying them. Don't get me wrong the Mr. Bullet Feeder appears to be a great product...

    308win 190gr SMK

I have a R700 20" 10 twist rifle....i developed a 190gr SMK load using 41.9gr Varget, Fed Gold Primers, and Hornady brass....I am averaging 2390fps. It groups sub-MOA. Here's my question: is 2390fps "fast enough" for a 190gr SMK? My rifle seems to "like" the 190gr more than the 175gr, but I am...

Inconsistent Results with Same Charge Weight

Hey guys, I'm developing a load for my 300WM. Currently working with Hornady brass, ELD-M 208grs, H1000, and Winchester primers. During my initial ladder testing, I found 73.5, 74.5, and 77.0 to be the best charge weights. But, when I loaded up two, 3-shot groups for each of those three weights...
