I've posted my results, and report on a couple other sites other than here so i'm just going to copy and paste the posts in here individually for y'alls. I'm usually a lurker over here but I was hoping that you all would appreciate the results of me getting some of this ammo to test out. It...
I have been researching subsonic loads and have been getting mixed reviews.
I am looking for a stable and safe subsonic 308 load... no baffle strikes
How does this sound...
Powder: Trail Boss 10-11 grains
Brass: mixed
Primer: GMM or Winchester
Bullet: 200 grain sierra HPBT
Thanks for your input
I just got my suppressor and would like to work up some subsonic loads (.308). While I was in the sporting goods store yesterday I did a quick search on my phone and found some people recommending AA5744. This happened to be one of the few powders they had in stock, so I grabbed 2 lbs. It looks...
Finally got together with my buddy to try the loads I made up for him for his 308 DMPS, with a Gem tech, 11.25:12 twist, Barrel length was 16".
First 3 rounds was fired from a clean bore without the can to check for tumblers. They all stabilized and was within the velocity range we wanted...
Does anyone have any info on how to make a .308 subsonic round to run through a CAN. I am using SMK BTHP 175 gr. for my regular loads w/ RL 15 powder and CCI BR-2 primers. Can I use the supplies that I already have or do I need different powder, bullets, primers???? Any help would be...
anyone have a good load using this powder?
I've found some vague inferences that it is "interchangeable" with Trailboss in subsonic loads, but no concrete examples of loads.
Specifically, I'm looking to load 180-220 gr bullets.
I have looked at all the info I have time to look at! I see Trail boss is good for case capacity and is not position sensitive.
I have every powder at my disposal and primers too.
Rifle is DPMS AR10 16" barrel 1-9 twist with a Gemtech can.
Would like to use 150gr 30-30's, 180gr PSP's and...
was wondering what you guys who shoot suppressors use for 9mm subsonic bullets, i will be using it for 9mm SBR's and some suppressed 9mm pistols. i was looking at the 147gr XTP, and the 124gr XTP, thanks for any helpful input.
Has anyone tried using small pistol primers in 223 subsonic loads. I know they are not as heavey duty as the rifle primers and can't take the high pressure loads. But just wondering if they would work in sub sonic loads.
Getting ready to cut the barrel on one of my 308 Savages to use with my HVT and subsonic ammo. Anybody have an opinion on barrel lenght that works best? Or just use my 24" barrel that is already threaded.
THANKS
Bob
In my first post on my .22 supressor it became painfully obivious that there was NO snaptic connection in my thought processes! For one reason or another the importance of Sub-sonic FAILED to imprint in my cerebral gray-matter. I had a new .22 Suppressor. Waves of 'thrill' made my trigger...
Just picked up 40 rounds of this, 170g flatpoint bullet. Anyone have exp with this ammo? To maximize my trigger time and not waste a bunch of rounds trying to get on paper, Looking for how much of a drop im going to have from my 100 yd M118LR zero.
I've been using Remington's 22 subs for awhile now. Performance is okay for a sub-round, but I'd like to find something with a heavier grain. Any suggestions?
