A friend is selling a new Bartlein barrel, chambered in 300 Norma with zero rounds fired. It was threaded 1 1/16x16, initially for a Bat action.

It seems like many of the Lapua bolt face rounds skip the 700 actions and go bigger to get a 0.750" bolt. With the 1 1/16 thread pitch, would I be stuck to Remington receivers or a Bat action?

Are there any any advantages (or negatives) to being threaded this way? Understanding pro/cons of threading is deeper than my current knowledge base.

Thanks for the help, glad to have transitioned back to the old hide.

With the stock Remington threads, it seems like many do not recommend using such a small barrel/bolt. Would this same issue still exist with the pressure because the case web is very similar, but the overall energy is less than a 338 Lapua.

And, is there any other custom actions that are long action, lapua bolt face, but have the 1 1/16x16 threads?
