I want to get the Ruger Precision rifle in 223 and it checks every box I am looking for, for the most part except it is threaded 1/2-28 instead of 5/8-24. I know there are plenty of adaperts out there but just doesn't sit right with me. Any advice, I plan on threading on my Harvester 30, and I dont want to use a different adapter for the harvester as i shoot it on other guns and I am not a fan of swapping constantly.

Could be another reason to buy another can.
The only 1/2"ers I have are for the 22lrs. I did put my 22 Take Down on AR. Seamed to work alright, just didn't want to send to many bursts thru and get it too hot all at once.

just buy the adapter......check for baffle interference with a cleaning rod....and enjoy.

personally ide put some rocksett on the barrel threads and just leave the adapter on the barrel.

I have quite a few guns that I have to use adapters on. The Gemtech, while more expensive is the ONLY one I haven't had an alignment issue on...the others have at least one out of 3 with issues. You can find them cheaper than at brownells. http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts...rod103509.aspx

But anytime you use an adapter, check alignment with an alignment rod...small price investment http://www.surefire.com/sf-bore-alignment-rod.html

Cheaper option. I have both go with the cheaper option http://www.cncwarrior.com/7-62-ground-guide-rod-p/28659.htm
