The thermometer said 23 degrees when we left the truck..We'd set up in our shooting house this morning which is positioned between two fields. Out front we are wide open to 750 yards and then several clearings out to 1200. Behind us is a small field, about 110x200 yards. Both rifles were positioned towards the big field, as that's where we usually see the most activity. Around 7:30 my toes had become a bit frosty, so I decided to fire up the heater. As soon as I let my guard down to do so, my buddy William turns around and sees these four walking into the smaller field. Keep in mind we are not trophy hunting. William shot the buck first, and the does scattered. I was able to put two down and William followed up with the last doe. All of which were on the move. Four shots, four deer down in about ten seconds. William was shooting a 25-06 Sendero with Accubombs. I had taken along the .338LM. with 300gr SMKs. The shots just happened to be in really close today.
