1 mil = ? At ten yards?

How many cm or inches is a mil at ten yards?

Just switched to mil from moa. I know it’s a dumb question. Trying to determine the distance between dots in a thermal reticle because apparently no one at L3 wants to tell me or get off their butt and find someone that does know. Thanks.

At 100 yards it's about 1/3 of an inch. Divide that by 10 if it wasn't a typo

As your Range decreases your sight height comes into play for your aimpoint.
A mil is a mil, 1/10 of a mil is 1/10 of a mil, but @ 10 yards your aim point depends on sight height.

Run * Tan (angle) = rise

10 yards * 3-ft/1-yd * 12-in/1ft * tan (0.001) = rise

360-in * 0.001 = 0.36-in

1 mil @ 1000 = 36 inches. 1 mil @ 100 yards = 3.6 inches. 1 mil @ 10 yards = 0.36 inches.
