1 piece mount suggestions?

Kicking around the idea of a 1 piece mount for the AR; I have a Bushnell LRTS 3-12 that I could mount for hunting when the time comes.

I’ve looked at the Bobro mounts and also the Seekins MXM. What is the difference between having either the levers to attach to the rain system or torque bolts? Just the ability to quick detach? Are two of the levers better than 1? And lastly, will the Bushnell need a higher mount to clear the rail?

I have used the Burris P.E.P.R., ADM Recon and Larue QD mounts and all will have sufficient clearance for the optic you mentioned.
The QD mounts are nice if you have more than one optic you intend to use or a need for removal for storage and transport or sharing that optic on other rifles.
Other than those reasons I listed it is just additional expense and weight if you don't need the QD function.

Bobro or Seekins would be fine, I run ADM and NF Unimounts.

How they attach is user preference, QD would be great if you have buis and the optic fails.

Height is dependent on the scope objective size, larger objectives will need higher. Cheek weld also comes into play if your stock's comb is not adjustable.

Spuhr if money is not object. For a budget mount the Nikon black mounts made by Warne or just the regular Warne mounts are very good for the money. Not a fan of Seekins.

I’ve switched most of mine over to 20MOA NF cantilever Unimounts. Still leaves rooms for BUIS and a pic rail for brass catcher on small frame, plenty of rail space on large frame. Not QD, but totally solid. Nothing negative to say about either ADM or Bobro-they work well, just hate shagging well cared for brass if avoidable, and needed the space.

I use a Bobro on a Vortex 1-8. I normally use Badger Ordnance on everything else and have a Seekonk torque wrench. I decided to try a JP mount and installed one yesterday. I’ve only fired enough to get a good zero but so far, I like it.

I would say AM mount. Bobro is awesome but the lever is so bulky I hated it. Spuhr is my new toy and I love it but yes its on the pricey side.

Unless really needed, I would avoid QD mounts. PEPR and ADM might be good enough, but stepping up to a JP enterprises or NF unimount would be my suggestion if feasible. For AR many times a ~1.5" height cantilever mount works well. Your rifle, physique, if you have adjustable cheek riser, etc should all be factored in.

The NF Unimount is among the best out there. And for QD mounts nothing can touch BoBro, not quite sure what people are talking about above I've never snagged my Bobro mount. The ADM and LaRue Mounts are shit! As far as quality consistency and return to zero is concerned.

My Bobro was good until the single spring loaded recoil lug snapped off.

I had it for about a year on a rifle shooting .223 (PWS piston and another conventional DI mid length upper). The Bobro held a Steiner P4xi for the most part. I then mounted a Bushnell LRHS 4.5-18. Maybe that was too big a scope for the single clamp version to hold long term?

At one point, the scope took a big hit on top of its elevation turret when the gun fell off a table, but no immediate issues with installation or zeroing showed itself. The Bobro seemed to hold up just fine.

Months later I found out the Bobro mount broke after I installed the package on my brand new 224v and couldn’t get the thing to zero!

I switched over to a Vortex/Seekins precision cantilever Mount and have had no issues since.

Totally forgot to ask; what height mount would be needed for the LRTS 3-12x44?

The Seekins mounts are 1.45” height of centerline over the rail. A lot of cantilever mounts for ARs will be about that height. That will be more than enough to clear the handguard.
