I currently have a Kidd medium extended mag release lever (the one the sticks out about 5/8 inch and comes to a point) in a 10/22 i use in NRL22. My problem is that shooting off of a barricade and bag, at some point I manage to accidentally eject the magazine with the bag. Looking at the long extended release that wraps under the trigger guard, that looks to move the release action way past the balance point of my rifle. So it seems like that could make it harder the do a quick mag change having to almost hold the rifle with two hands.

That leaves the third choice, the classic almost flush release lever.

What have you found to be the most most functional mag release for NRL and 10/22? The classic or extended wrap around release?

Thanks

I use these on several rifles. I like them.

It's a mag release, if you hit it mag is gone. You can train yourself to remove finger from trigger and pin the release lever with your other fingers during movement. The KIDD does move the action point further to the rear.

Thanks for the reply. I think I will get the long one and the classic sportsman and try them both. The sportsman style will fix my problem for NRL and the long one could be better for steel challenge.
