I have a 10-22 carbine that ive been upgrading as the funds have allowed me to. I have added a new sear and stuff, so now im at a point where im pretty content with it, but since i wont be hunting with it, and id like to get some more accuracy out of it, i'd like to upgrade to an aftermarket bull barrel, i was thinking a kid.

I was wondering what opinions you guys had about what stock i should get, and i guess for that matter what barrel too. I dont want to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on each one but i think about 200-250 each would be reasonable.

I was thinking a Bell and Carlson synthetic stock. I will just be using this rifle for shooting at the range and plinking. Thanks in advance.

Here is a good place to start:

If you look hard enough, they can be had for around $200, you get a finished Fajen stock along with an Adams & Bennett Barrel.
It is a good value and what I would recomend after giving the trigger group some TLC.

One thing to note about these stocks,
They can be used with the thumb hole or without.
If you don't use the thumb hole, the grip is just like a McMillan A5, you thumb goes up along the tang.

Re: 10-22 stocks

I have the Fajen Legacy stock and love it. I did have to do some sanding to float the barrel and get a proper receiver fit. But that only took 15-20 minutes. If you get one that you don't need to massage, it is probably a little too loose. The B&C look real nice, but I couldn't stomach the extra $200 for it.

Re: 10-22 stocks

The Fajen works very well off of a standard rear bag.
I run a Harris Bi-Pod as well just to have more similarity to my 308.
I shoot this rifle daily when the weather allows and I can say that doing so has payed off in spades.

This picture is a bit old, but you get the idea.
Current configuration is with a small bipod and a 25 MOA EGW 10-22 Extended Picatinny Tactical Scope Rail Mount.

I have a rediculous amount of money sunk into this rifle over the years.
Started this project in 2000 as a bone stock 10/22.
Now the only thing left that is stock is the reciever and trigger housing.
Building 10/22s is very addicting and needs its own 12 step program...

Re: 10-22 stocks

buy a green mountain stock and barrel combo and be done with it....my wife's 22 was built on the cheap and that was what i put in it and it will shoot nearly as good as my gun that is 3 x's the cash

Re: 10-22 stocks

I used to have a 10/22 with a TacSol barrel and hogue stock. It was a great hunting rifle, as it was light to carry around all day, but I was never really impressed by the accuracy. My barrel just never shot that well. But, then again, YMMV.
