Just went to pickup my GAP rifle and it was a no go. Here in California, there is a 10 day waiting period before you can pickup your gun. This goes down to the second your FFL submits your paperwork. My waiting period was up on Sunday at 5pm. My FFL is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so I go today and my paperwork has not cleared. My guy looked at a couple other pickups scheduled for today and they are not processed either. Covid delay or state tactic to harass law abiding citizens? This happening all over the state? And members seeing this happen anywhere else?

Not business days, 10 24 hour periods. I have bought maybe one or two recently. ?I try to keep my small town FFL in business.

Nice job supporting the local economy! I supported mine today as well. The FFL closed shop for a while, but he still handled my transfer. He tried the internet first, it failed, I got nervous. He picked up the phone and I was on my way with the new toy in about 20 minutes.

I have a buddy that bought a s&w 638 the same day and he is getting the same thing at another dealer. My guy tried to call, but got no answer. I’m thinking you got lucky. Happy to hear someone got what they paid for today.

My local guy is a retired SEAL and my dad and I have been buying guns from him for over 20 years. Has always treated us right and is a true supporter of the 2nd.

You've got a point. You made me think a little harder and the last handgun I bought, my FFL, called me the next day, while I was at work, and told me my "survival gear" was ready for p/u. Mac

Not even a call to NICS here. CWP in AZ, walk in, 4473, walk out. Hard to believe we're even neighbors.
CA was sued a couple years ago over the 10 day wait period for people who already owned guns. The state AG was asked to provide information on how making someone wait 10 days, when they already own other guns , makes the public safer. He did not even try and make a case, just got it postponed. It’s still floating out there. They tried to close guns stores for covid but could not, maybe this is the new way? Just fail to process all sales.

Congrats on the pick up of the rifle.

I live in CA and had the same delay happen to me 2 weeks ago. My FFL's opinion was the system is over whelmed by the amount of transactions happening right now compounded by the department running thin. They are not even able to get the DOJ on the phone to discuss issues, just goes to a voicemail. I would agree with them considering the huge amount of people I saw in the shop buying guns. A lot of new gun owners in CA at the moment.

Finally got my gun out of jail yesterday and got her all dressed up today.

I’m glad I got mine when I did. I’m going to need a bit of time to save up some money for my next gun, so hopefully we will be back to normal before that happens.
