Is anyone running these with varget? What speeds run good and with what charge weight?

I just broke in my 26 inch proof barrel and am using OCD alpha, varget, and fed 205m's. 31.8 grains was getting 2815 fps in new brass. I'm going to do a ladder test this weekend and am planning on just going up to what people run the 105s at powder wise. I know the 109s will be slower.

In a couple barrels now with lapua brass Im finding I get pressure signs ~32 grains with varget and the 105-115 bullets. Alpha ocd may withstand more it doesnt mean the pressure still isnt there lurking. Chasing 2900+ is a stout load, Id be pleased with 28xx something, where ever it shoots pretty. I land around the 31.3-31.5 is seems like krob, one barrel had that at 2860, this current is putting me around 2760 with a 115. But its happy there.

Id load .02 off the lands and 31.1-32.0 in .1 increments, 3 shot groups and see whats what on paper, at distance if you can, and not worry about es/sd, its a dasher, they are all gonna shoot well. Then a little seating depth test and youre done and its gonna be one ragged hole.

Seems kinda slow. I’m running 31.4gr varget with a 109 hybrid, lapua brass in a 6BRA and getting 2825. Bartlein barrel.
I agree it's slow. Maybe because it's new brass? Could it be because I only have 17 rounds through my barrel?

I did jumps at 60, 80, and 100tho. And 60 shot the best group. I don't plan on pushing it crazy. I'd be happy with upper 2800s.

I load 30.5 grains of Varget in Lapua brass with a 109 LRHT. I get 2,810 with a 28 inch barrel. Precision is outstanding. I loaded up to 31.0 Varget and it shot pretty much the same with velocity of 2,850. Running the numbers between the 2 loads there is no discernable difference in wind drift.

I’m getting 2880 w/ 31.7 Gr Varget and 2858 w/ 31.5 Gr. 26” w/ 110 ATips, Lapua brass and CCI 450’s... jumping .045

26” Kreiger 1-7.5

Same load with 105’s and was seeing 2915 with 31.7 Gr...

What are gavin and I doing so different that 31.8 grains are getting so much less fps? My 31.8 is getting 2813 fps. His was 2840.

Not sure, I use a really similar loading process. I load on a Co-ax with Redding Type-S dies, and use about 0.0025" neck tension using the Sinclair neck turning mandrel. I use an Autotrickler v3 to throw powder.

I'm also generally at 4500 DA in Las Vegas with low humidity. The answer is probably somewhere in there.

I'm using a v3 also. My brass is new. Did your fps jump from new brass to once fired?

Anyone seeing any nodes? Only had slight ejector swipe at the top two charges.

What chambering are you running? Free bore? Neck?
