True, but like stated above, you aren’t trying to win the hearts and minds of the decided. You’re trying to show the undecided our point of viewBy doing stupid shit like this, you are giving that 5-10% of the hard left more fuel.
The same way you have to understand the algorithms of social media, you have to realize that it’s a super small percentage of the “left” that is anti gun. You can have 1000 articles pop up in your feed, all saying the same thing, but that doesn’t mean it’s the majority. Not every democrat is anti-gun. Most Americans, regardless of political affiliation, don’t have the luxury of giving a shit about only one political talking point. If you have that luxury, you’re either very well off or you’re the biggest problem that you face.
Shit you could have 1,000,000 identical voices/opinions posting online in your feed/in your face at the grocery store/at a debate/conference. That doesn’t mean they are the majority of any party, group, or book club.
What you don’t want to do is give that loud yet insignificant group anything they can use to manipulate the narrative against your ideals. Stunts like this can easily be manipulated by opposing parties. We need to be better and smarter.
Or we can call people who don’t support this Fudds and act surprised when the opposing elements use it against us.
Win the undecided and those who feel that their side is a bit out there but don’t know any better...and you’ll win the battle. Allies win wars, not isolated elitists that you have to pledge 10000000% to on everything or you’re dead to them.
The “them vs us” bullshit is getting really fucking old. Can’t keep doing the same bullshit every two years and expect a different outcome.
