Ive got a load that is crazy accurate-lapua brass fed 210 primmer BLC-2 51.8 grns sie 110 varmint.coal 2.602 out of an LTR my work up groups started at 48 grns and the hotter I went the tighter it got.final group .20. took ltr and others to wyoming last year for antalope and p-dogs and the 110s did a number on the dogs out to 400 yrds after that wind was to much.
I just shot some Burger 110gr last week. My 25" 1-12 shot a little under .75 moa with 47.8grs of IMR 4895. My STS tactical 20" 1-12 shot about 1 moa with the same load. The 20" shot a little better with 44.6gr of H322.
I used AA2460 for the 110vmax and hit about 3300fps from a 26" barrel. Very explosive to say the least, dont expect to a save hides or meat unless you really slow it down.
110 MOLY COATED VMAX WITH 43 GR OF IMR 4064 2.710 OAL IS ONLY GIVING ME 2701 FPS, BUT IS STAYING MOA OUT TO 525 YARDS THROUGH A 22" SAVAGE PIPE. HAVEN'T SHOT A DOG WITH THEM YET BUT DOES A NASTY JOB ON WOODCHUCKS
I don't want to hijack this thread, but how would a small .308 110 grain compare to the new wonder cartridge the 6.5x47.
Any body compared the two on ballistic programme ?.
Marshmellow to cruise missle regarding downrange figures....
NineHotel, I did the same thing and loaded the 110vmax to about 2500fps for an older shooter with shoulder problems, no recoil and pentrated just fine with good expansion without fragmenting.

That's comparing apples & pencil shavings my friend.
6.5x47 will smoke check the .308 110 V-Max... without question!
There seems not to be any .308 loads that will run with the 6.5x47, the 155 scenars (and many others) are a far better LR round for a .308 when compared with the 110gr V-Max but even than the 6.5x47 wins easy.
