I know it's probably in the reloading depot somewhere but I've looked until my eyes are crossed! I'm looking for some load data using the 110gr vmax and RL-15. Anyone using this?

Thanks

I will have to check. I have my load data somewhere, but if I remember correctly it was 44.2 grains...... I will check though! Sweet little pill for a few unlucky prairie dogs last year!!!

Re: 110gr Vmax in .308

this is what ive used so far
49gn H335 = 32??fps
47gn Varget
48.5gn AA2460 = 3193fps
48.7gn AA2460 = 3360fps
the h335 produced one hole groups at 100y in a 1:11 4 grove 610mm barrel
brass was lapua 2.005"
and seated .051" off lands

next powder to try is VIT N130 should hit 3400fps easy and VIT N530 may be a bit higher still !

I think with the lighter bullet you will have a much more efficient load with a faster powder like H322.
My guess is the top end RE15 or similar speed powders will be a compressed load.

I ran out of room in the case when I was using Varget and the 110 V-max. I'm going to try some 110V-max loads using Benchmark powder. I'm having real good results with Benchmark and 135gr SMK's. .250moa groups at 100yds at 3100fps.

I just threw together a bunch of 308s [generic 308 reamer] from parts lying around and they got to go to the range once, musical chairs with a 40X Leupold, on Jan 30, 2009:

110 gr Vmax moly .308 LC or WW brass, 44.9 gr surplus bulk IMR4895 that acts more like H322, 2.815"
I have shot this before [2950 fps 22" barrel], and the reason that is all the powder I put in is because that is all that will fit in the military brass, the WW has room for another 4 gr. ~ 43kpsi

#1 rifle, 10.5 pounds as tested,19.5" Hart barrel
1.0" 3 shot group 100yards 110 gr

#2 rifle, 10.2 pounds as tested, 22" German barrel,
0.68" 4 shot group at 100 yards 110 gr

#3 rifle, 10.2 pounds as tested, 22" German barrel,
0.99" 3 shot group at 100 yards 110 gr

#4 rifle, British Parker Hale bull barrel 10.5 pounds plus scope [I put this $38 barrel on 5 years ago and never got around to shooting it], VZ24,
0.75" 3 shot group at 100 yards 110 gr

This is funny. Reading the 1-30-2009 range report, the guy at the bench next to me was a car salesman and talked so much I forgot to get the targets for the #5 308.
