Well my son and I got to shoot our Savage 10BA last weekend. Used a Millet LRS scope. I was very impressed with the clarity and performance of this scope.

This was my son's (13 years old) 1st time shooting this gun and only his 2nd time shooting at 400 yards. In a 14 MPH R-L wind, here is how he did. We probably shot 30 rounds total. 10 or so were just getting the elevation correct and then corrected for wind. These were last 4 shots of the day.

Target was 11.5" in diameter. Overall group was 4". Without the flyer, lower three are 2".

To say he was excited is an understatement.

Thanks for the positive comments! I will share them with him.

We got it on paper w/ cheap stuff and then changed over to Black Hills 168g match.

Update on this rifle:

This morning the wind cooperated and I thought it would be a good time to dial this thing in. Made a few fouling shots and adjusted for windage since last time out. Put a fresh target up and here were my last 5 shots using 168g Black Hills ammo.

This is an 11" target. The group measured 2.25” at widest point at 400 yards. All 5 shots were in the 10 ring. This gun totally exceeded my expectations. Look forward to doing some 600 and farther shots.

Nice grouping, thanks for posting. I'm new to long range and still in the process of cutting out my 400 yard range. I can only hope my 5r and myself can shoot this good.
