With the great reloading component drought of 2020 I am having trouble sourcing my normal elk load -180 accubond but I do have my antelope/mule deer loads available. 150 grain accubond at 3070 FPS. I think they should be good for a cow elk out to 500 or so. Any thoughts?
Impact speed at 500 is 2200 fps and 1650 ft/lb of energy.

How many 180gr pills are you looking for?

I have Nosler partitions I could part with.
Thanks guys I really appreciate the offer. I’m always amazed at the generosity of the shooting community.
I’m probably just going to stick with the 150’s. Not sure I’ll have time to load, zero, and else do a couple down range before the hunt.

A 150gr Nosler Accubond of any diameter is going to plow through the vitals of an elk like a rocket ship with a destination well beyond the animal itself, if shot from broadside.
