25 Creedmoor - Best of the Creeds?

I’ve got a 26” x-cal running 40g of 4350 in Starline srp brass and my low node is 2850 with a 134.

I’ve taken it all the way up to 42.5g and was just north of 3k, but was getting clickers from 2950 and up, so I’m staying with my 2850 load

thanks for the replies and data

I'm going to use a 22" proof or PVA carbon fiber (suppressed) and looking for 2850ish with the 134 ELDm and H4350. SRP brass, undecided on Peterson or alpha.

Sounds like i should be able to get that with the ole reliable 41-42gr range of 4350

I think it depends on a few different factors but I’ve seen quite a bit of different data points while researching the cartridge. Kinda hard when it was a “wildcat” and no SAAMI reamer specs to nail down general load data.
Umm it's still not SAAMI spec as far as I know however Hornady is already making brass so I assume they are planning to.

You might get it with a different power but I'm very skeptical you can get to an all weather condition load with that speed but let us know what you actually get once you build one.

Yeah it’s not a SAAMI cartridge yet but seems the common thought is that it will be. I already built one and am just breaking it in. My specs are a few posts back.

Promising start with Sierra 131 HPBT and H4350.

Edit:
Well not awesome but will keep playing with them.

I've chambered three 25 Creeds in the last month for myself and local PRS guys. All three of us are running Alpha SRP brass and 134 ELD-M's between 2850 and 2880 with H4350 with 26" Brux MTU's. The reamer I'm using is optimized for the ELD-M to have the boattail / bearing surface junction right where it needs to be for max case capacity. I hit pressure above 2900 on my rifle so I run at 2850 pretty comfortably with 41.2 grains for H4350. Accuracy is absolutely spectacular. I shot my personal smallest three shot group measuring .0395" with all groups for that final day of tuning falling under .25" Round count so far is just shy of 600 rounds - the Alpha brass is on its 5th firing and primer pockets are still nice and tight.

We all expected to easily reach 2900+ with this cartridge and it is possible with the 26" + barrels but your gonna torch your brass early and it just isn't necessary. This thing rings steel at a mile with ease.

What's the freebore on that reamer?

Anyone else running the JGS 25 Creed BJ reamer with .290 neck and .258 free bore? I’m shooting a 22” proof with 135 bergers, alpha brass and 4350.

.258 freebore is waaaaaaaay too much.

My JGS BJ reamer has .115" FB which I played with a bit, but it was a little short for the 134's. .140" is about perfect for 134 ELD-M's.

It's a good reamer. That was the first reamer I ran, no probs but like I mentioned, you give up a little bit of case capacity. If that was all I had I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

Looking for 75 gr VMAX recipes.

44 gr Varget only mild extractor ring on Alpha brass. Working up loads so only loaded 4 but looks promising.

Have you used anything besides Varget with the lighter bullets?

Any worries of the vmax coming apart in your 7 twist barrel at 3400?

Only Varget.
I pushed them faster on 10/5/24.
Mild extractor ring on the brass. Probably maxed out. I have not had any vaporize. I think the VMAX are ok. More ELD-M bullets come apart in my experience. 6.5 PRC anyway.

Love it, will have to give them a try because the vmax seems like the easy button. 3500 is absolutely screaming out of an 18”

Yeah but 133 Berger still better ballistically it seems.
.283 bushing
I did the measurements and math and even tried .285 based on that but .283 for Lapua and Alpha brass seems perfect.

Anyone have load data for the 25 CM and Nosler 85 Ballistic Tip? I’m afraid my barrel has too much freebore to run 75 VMAXs so looking to shoot a longer bullet. Looking at the burn rate charts, CFE223 might be a good match if Varget pairs nicely with the 75 Vmax?

Anyone have at least a starting point for an 85 ballistic tip in 25 Creed? May try the Varget I bought or CFE223. I do have some Superformance laying around too. I'm just too new to reloading to know much more than heavier bullets generally = slower burn powder haha

@Ledzep fingers crossed you guys are working on a 90 ELD VT!
