$1500 limit for a ffp mil/mil scope with illumination going on a 7mm Remington mag that will be used mostly for the range, anything beat a razor gen2?

Only other scope I’ve been thinking about was a swfa hd 5 20 which I’m sure I can pick up a lnib for a grand tops

The extra $500 for the razor is money well spent.
I’d get a athlon Cronus before a SWFA.
I wouldnt. I have (3) SwFA 5-20 and had and sold a AThlon Cronus and many others including the Razor GenIi(several), and several AMGs. The 5-20 is still my favorite scope. The cronus is a decent scope and I could see how some may like it more. I prefer the thicker and more simple reticle of the SWFA.

A Razor Gen II is a nice scope. It has the largest eyebox and FOV of any scope i have used. I prefer the EBR2c reticle though. I am not a fan of the way Vortex did the .2mil hashes. They just get in the way in my opinion. For a range gun it would be hard to beat. For a multipurpose gun it can be beat easily due to the weight and the thin reticle.

delta stryker hd 5x50x56 34mm will . and for well maybe 100 more + shipping 1600 unless on sale for less more usable mag Its well worth at least checking out . https://www.edgunwest.com/store/scopes/item/delta-stryker-hd-5-50x56-sfp/ It will not have the vortex warranty but neither does the vortex have the mag range . nor will many others and the glass is excellent good luck on which ever scopes you choose and happy shooting .

I have a Steiner military 4-16 I got for around that amount I think you can find those, or maybe the newer 3-15, but that might be a bit more. I really like mine. I have heard bad things about their tactical line though, so I would stick with a military.

The idea you pay a lot for a name brand company's scope means nothing about longevity. I would trust a Tasco before I would trust a Swarovski. I never had a Tasco fail and had a Swarovski need to be repaired twice in two years. I don't want something with a good warranty. I want something good.

The honest truth is no scopes are that reliable. They all have kind of similar insides, and can fail. buy for features, and glass reliability is subjective.
