Here's a very short video of a couple rounds at 1500yd with a .308. Sorry I didn't make a dual-cam vid this time, but I really wasn't planning on taking footage. Basically, I had a few rounds from a lot I loaded for the last NC TBRC left over that I needed to get rid of, and a family outing seemed a good time to do it.

I'm curious...
Did you use the JBM output 'as is' with my BC to get your dope, or did you have to 'tweak' anything to make the hits?
If it's that accurate (56.9 vs 57 MOA) at 1500 yards, that's awesome (I may want to point to your shooting as an example of how accurate the ballistics are)! If you had to tweak it, I'm interested in what the tweak was (and I'll get back to work to make it better

I used Adobe Premier, and I didn't spend any time making it nice, obviously.

Bryan, no, I ran the JBM afterwards in response to a question about drop. However, JBM has always been very accurate. You do need to know the correct BC of the bullet, the Lapua has more than one BC that people have attached to it......

I usually use FFS software, which has the features I like. It's awesome with known bullets like the Sierra and stuff, but the Lapua factory BC's are not always correct, and so I've had to prove the load in given conditions and range and then recalc the BC and/or DK in FFS before being able to rely on it.

My dope for the TBRC this year from FFS was spot on to 1k, once I had done those operations.

Scotty. That's certainly impressive shot for a 308 caliber in any body's book. I was just wondering when you look at the target itself, do you see any key-hole imprint on that, since you are well into the subsonic territory for the 155 scenars.

Nope, straight hits. Actually, depending on which ballistics you run, it might not have been subsonic for long.

Also, when I've shot the 175 SMK's at 1200yds from a 20" tube, they hit straight as well.

Interestingly enough, we also shot a few 168 SMK's with 41gr IMR 4895 LC brass at a plate at 1065yds, using a 16" Armalite AR-10 and Leupold M3. Not only was it repeatable, but the hits also looked straight, which surprised the heck out of me. Every time that I've been in the pits and someone is shooting a slower 168, it keyholes.

Good shootin'! I'm hoping I can get some long range (1200y) shooting in soon, but the weather is just too darn cold for these parts.

Dumb question about the 168's maintaining their stability against what was thought to have happened, could a faster twist make the 168's stable through the transition to subsonic vs. the slower 1:12 twists? I shoot 208's right now, but thinking of making a switch to the lighter bullets, can't make up my mind.

GCM, welcome to the 'Hide!

Branden, the Sierra 175 is known to remain stable past the transonic stage in many barrels, I suggest you try them. The 168 was just not designed for anything past short-range competitions.
