Hello i am have trouble with 175gr MB118's from Widener's. Right now they're shooting 4"-5" groups.

These are bullets in question.

Has anyone been able to work up a good load with these bullets?

I have had good luck with 175gr SMK's with 42gr AA2520 and LC Match brass.

Edited for grammar - Scott (scooter his my Dad, he helped himself my account)

Re: 175 mill spec 308 bullets

Punctuation man...It's important!

Are you using the same load for the mill spec as the 175 smk's? Have you tried working up a load for the mill spec bullets?

Re: 175 mill spec 308 bullets

If you close one eye and read every other word, it sort of makes sense.

Seriously, please use proper grammar. Its very hard to understand otherwise.

Cheers,

-K

If your powder is AA 2520, It looks like it is close too IMR 4895. Max. load with a 175 SMK should be around 45C gr. Work up with caution as always.

That's the first thing I thought of, I tried the 168's and they too sucked nuts in my rigs. The mil specs are not even in the same ballpark as Sierras

Re: 175 mill spec 308 bullets

When you say milspec what do you mean? I have boxes of 175 gr M118 match grade bullets, and they are as accurate as SMK's. So what is milspec?

Go to Wideners website and they have bullets with that exact description for bullets that are 175g but not actually sierras. Im not even sure they are the same bullets the o.p is referring to.
