$30-$40 for shipping 1000 178 BTHPs to Georgia? Have these people never heard of USPS flat rate boxes?
its my first experience with these sites, i have been watching several sites. i noticed the other sites take backorders and fill them first. ill update good or bad when i get them. my shipping was 28.
I've bought from big supply shop before. My only complaint is the shipping. As Early Cuyler said, why not use flat rate shipping?

i love them. better than 175s is up for discussion but the fact that they are cheaper and the quality level is still there will keep me buying them.
Gotcha, I believe the Amax 178 is an even more debatable discussion and I always wonder if it's better.
I love them as well. I first found them on sale at Midway USA as "blemished" but figured they could only be the magical 178s from Hornady, even though they were not formally introduced separately for reloaders! I bough 600 of them for like $13.00 / 100 and they flew great! i could not discern what qualified them as blemished and it was another few months until Hornady formally introduced them as component bullets.
They have been very scarce for the last several months and while I dislike Cheaper than Dirt, and remain skeptical, I am out of them and wanted to replenish my stock!

I ordered 500 last week and received them in 5 days. Wasn't happy that I had to order from CTD, but was glad to find them. I had less than 75 left.

Not trying to sidetrack this, but since the question was asked,
Watch out trying to swap these out for the 175 SMK. I tried to do it with my .308 Semi-Auto, and trying to run the 178 BTHP at mag length, pushed the base of the bullet back into the neck/shoulder junction because they are longer than the 175s. Those loads worked, but I had to be real careful with the neck tension, if it was off/inconsistent, then it would produce flyers.
I run the 178 BTHP in my bolt guns where I can run the OAL out a lot more, but I am sticking with the 175 SMK in my .308 Semi to keep the seating depth from becoming an issue with the longer bullet.
Food for thought.
