Anyone have any reviews in this match series barrels by faxon? Good, bad, or otherwise. I recently purchased one and just installed it and im curious if anyone else has any input in it i have high hopes for it the fit and finish was pretty nice.

I have one, haven’t shot it much though.
Shoots Hornady 140gr Gunner ammo decent (5 shots 100 yards ~ 0.8”). Didn’t produce great results with FGMM 130 gr Berger, was >1”.

Fit and finish is nice. I bet if I worked at it with a load it likes and put more time behind it myself, I could certainly get better results, but this rifle isn’t the first pickup on a lot of outings so not much experience yet with it.

I have a melonite-treated Faxon Pencil profile 16" mid-length 5.56 NATO chamber, 1:8. It's super light and holds 2 MOA or better with my plinking loads.

I've done several bump-fire mag dumps, and when I initially put everything together, I went about 1000-1200 rounds without cleaning on purpose to test reliability. Started getting cases stuck in chamber at the end. Extractor was ripping the case rim off LOLLL. Once cleaned, back like a champ and eats everything. Freedom Munitions 223, Norma 55gr, Prime 77gr, Speer 62gr Gold Dot, M193 ball, M855 ball, my plinking loads of mixed brass bullshit..... All that good jazz.

I'd buy another one.

Thanks for the info. I would be happy with 1" at 100 as I plan on using this as a dedicated hunting rig anything under 400 yards. I was planning on using the RPR in 6.5 but its just to dang heavy to carry in the mountains.

if the fit and finish on other barrels are this good i can see why people go with top tier barrels lol. And i know this isnt top tier for many but it is for me im hoping to get as good a luck out of it as you have your 5.56.

I think I got my barrel on sale for like $175 or something. Works for me. I can ping 3-4MOA size steel out to 500 all day long with my TA31-RCO BDC reticle and plinking ammo :) 4MOA at 500 is about 20" wide and tall.... An adult male size torso ;)

I won a rifle that came with a 20” faxon 6.5 CM barrel. Straight fluted and quite light. It shoots surprisingly well (sub MOA) for as light as it is. Im a bit of a snob when it comes to gas gun barrels as most of mine say Krieger or Bartlein on them, but I’m very impressed with the Faxon.

I agree, these barrels shoot. I've put American Gunner factory 140 grain ammo through it and it shoots sub moa. I'm saving up some brass, and going to eliminate the adjustable gas key and then I'll do some load development for it to see what it does with 140 ELD's. I would definitely recommend it at this point.

Old old thread but I have a 6.5 Faxon match in 24 inch that with Hornady EDLM 140 grain got .6 MOA during break in.
