Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any performance data on the 180 accubonds or 180 ballistic tips at 1000 yards with a 308. Just interested in how it fairs up with the 175 SMKs at that range. Will not be hunting at that range just simply wondering about how this hunting bullet compares to a match bullet such as the Sierra MK. Thanks in advance.

It's been a while, but when I last tested them their published BC of .500 on the 180 Ballistic Tips seems overly optimistic, as they dropped a lot more than they should have at 1000 yards. Other bullets tested at that same time were the 175 SMK and the Lapua 155 Scenar. My rifles has a 10 twist barrel, so that may be why the 155 didn't do as well as it should have (it was very accurate at closer ranges, but the 175 beat it at 1000 yards). The 180 Noslers were very accurate, but I'd say the BC is closer to .475 at best.

I'd like to see some real world data on the new long range accubond. I like the old accubonds for hunting and they gave been very accurate for me, but I always thought the boattail looked too short on those.
